Surprisingly Oscar was the victim of bad decisions and those happened to be the most important. Both in their primes, I think he won his most important fight against Trinidad, lost a razor thin fight against Mosley in the first one, and clearly beat Mosley in the rematch in another close fight. So basically I think he beat Trinidad which should of been his career defining fight.

Floyd I think had his career defining fights against Castillo, but doesn't get enough credit simply because Castillo was overlooked by many including Mexican fans. He was a good, very good champion, but like Marquez at the time was abit overshadowed by Barrera and Morales's popularity. I really do think Castillo was much better than given credit for, but for now I have to pick Oscar over Floyd because his resume is simply much better than Floyds.
As for wins tho, his win over Trinidad (yes he beat Tito) and revindicating himself against Mosley in another clear win I have to say are much better wins over anyone in Floyd's resume. H2H there isn't even anyone on the level of the Ike Quartey Oscar fought back in 99-2000 in Floyd's resume.

The thing about Oscar is that b'sides the propaganda and the Golden Boy status, he accomplished a set of goals that few have had such as Olympic Gold, SFW, LW, LWW, WW, SWW and MW Titles, beating Chavez, Pernell, Gatti, Ruelas and so many others. I know you can say the same concerning Mayweather without even mentioning that he is undefeated and he beat men that Oscar didn't and beat Oscar himself... But look at the industry now and place GBP in the system and you will get a good idea of who is and was ODLH.

    Oscar De La Hoya
    Shane Mosley
    Miguel Cotto
    Arturo Gatti

Those 4 guys are 4 of Mayweather GREATEST wins, and those 4 guys were clearly past their best.

Dlh has bigger names but most of them were past their prime( Chavez, pernell)
His best performances actually were against Mosley losing the first one clearly and taking a controversial loss the second time. Against Tito he quit fighting the last 4 rds even if I believe he won the fight.Vargas was his best win in my opinion because of the beef between them.Against Floyd was just a show and he lost without doubts.

    There aren't.

Even Whitaker, which is recognized as a CLOSE fight, is still a better win than any "clear" win on Floyd's ledger, IMO. Fighting an ATG as high as Whitaker and doing as well as he did, is better than Floyd NOT fighting Pacquiao, point blank.

Why some people talk like Oscar 'lost' to Mosley?

He beat his ****ing steroid cheating disgraceful **** drinking roied up Fraud azz in the rematch. It was one of these 'close but clear' fights.

Actually with the superstar status that was Oscar, he should probably have gotten the decision in the first fight and nobody will complain.

Oscar's real record against Mosley and Trinidad should be 2-0. Or 2 wins , 1 draw, zero losses.

Anyone will rather take that record against Mosley and Tito and give up a loss to Sturm.

However way you try to spin ODLH's career, he still has a better resume than Floyd, and therefore should and will be ranked higher.

Oscar has won more title fights.
Oscar has fought and beat more champions.
Oscar has been champion more times over.
Oscar has fought the better opposition.

So how in the world can anyone justify Mayweather over Oscar?

All fighters do this, y'all musta forgot.

    43-0

Who? Who are the fans dying for him to fight? Who is left out there?? Don't you realize Floyd Mayweather is in the twilight of his career?

The reason they don't really back **** up is because they can't come up with a solid argument backing up their perspective... All I hear is, "Floyd is undefeated", "43 have tried 43 have failed", "blah blah blah, Oscar lost his biggest fights"...

Sad. Like they act like Floyd or Pac were his biggest fights. It goes to show they started watching after Floyd fought Gatti :deal
