Whitaker was faded but Cotto and Mosley weren't? Whitaker is the higher ranked fighter ATG wise and was higher ranked P4P wise, at the time than Mosley and Cotto. :good

Oscar has a few losses, but Oscar also fought much better oposition, more consistantly.

    Floyd vs Hopkins
    Floyd vs Whitaker
    Floyd vs Chavez
    Floyd vs Quartey
    Floyd vs Trinidad
    Floyd vs Camacho
    Floyd vs Roided Prime Mosley
    Floyd vs Jabbing Sturm
    Floyd vs Vargas

You're 100% sure Floyd comes out undefeated?

Oscar even fought Pac while he was welllll faded. Something prime Mayweather has failed to do.

yet oscar won a to the wire close fight to whitaker while floyd dominated mosley with mosley winning one round in the 12 round fight:lol: cotto won about 3 rounds:lol: 4 rounds between the two great fighters. Cotto isn't faded he looked his best in years. He had no stamina issues in that fight, i can't say that for cotto's last 5 years in the fight game he's always had that problem.

Every win you credit oscar with only add's credit to floyd for beating oscar:)

i hope you guys picking oscar also rank hopkins over calzaghe.

    Oscar.

If Floyd had fought the same opposition not a chace he would be undefeated.

Whitaker is a far greater fighter than Cotto and Mosley and was fighting in a deeper era with guys like Jones jr, Toney, Lopez, Oscar, Holyfield, etc. and was still #1 P4P when Oscar beat him. A close fight yes but that's because Whitaker is a greater fighter than Floyd, Mosley, and Cotto. :hi:

Whitaker is faded, but he looked great in the Oscar fight. Cotto looked the best he has in a while in the Floyd fight, but he wasn't faded? You're making no sense. :-(

It's a personal thing, this choice. I picked Floyd.
I like De La Hoya, however (at least in my opinion) losses mean a lot as far as ATG ranking.

Oscar obviously has the much better resume; despite the losses in a large proportion of his big fights. Nevertheless, these losses are to be taken into account. Floyd, although lacking opposition of the same caliber, has dominated every opponent he has faced (excluding Castillo 1).

I therefore believe they are on the same level as far as ATG.

However, Oscar having lost in his prime (albeit against Steroid Shane Mosley) and later on (as well as having numerous disputed decisions) sadly affects his standing in my eyes.

Could Floyd have done any better against his opposition? I doubt it, but that is not for any of us to say. We have to use what we have when thinking about these ratings.

Does Floyd ducking opposition affect these ratings? It shouldn't, not directly at least; we must use the fights he does have to gauge his rightful place in the rankings.

This is only my interpretation, any ranking is very much up to the one writing them.

Only someone from Europe would ever think about ranking Joe over Hopkins.

If you;re talking to me, a P4P Champion is someone who is a champion in the top 10 P4P.

How many of those has Floyd fought?

Floyd is a great champ, an ATG. But he doesn't have the resume Oscar has. I'm not saying he couldn't beat everyone Oscar beat, but the fact is that while the ONLY person you can arguably make a case against Oscar for not fighting him is Winky... But with Floyd, there are a few fighters he needed to fight, but did not.
