The Whitaker Oscar faced beats the Mosley and Cotto Floyd fought on the same night.

Oscar took on greater competition. Not entirely Floyd's fault. Different era. Floyd is the greater fighter, no question.

The fact is.....DLH faced the best his era produced....but wasn't able to win all his most important fights...he won some of them but the losses hurt his ATG standing.

Floyd....he doesn't have the kind of resume DLH has simply because Floyd didn't go the "Oscar route" where he sought out to fight the hardest fights during his era.

Had Floyd done what DLH did in going after the best....Floyd may not be undefeated right now...I would almost guarantee Floyd would have ended up with at least one "L"....but the fact is Floyd has never lost and he's had some very good wins

In this case Floyd being undefeated helps him pass DLH in the ATG standings.

? Floyd fought a lot of "p4p champion". Corrales, castillo, Judah, JMM, Cotto, Oscar, Hatton.

DLH by way of fighting superior competition level and having better wins: Trinidad, Mosley II, Vargas, Quartey, Whitaker, Chavez... by contrast, the best wins on Floyd's resume are a washed-up version of Oscar himself and Corrales.

The "0" doesn't mean as much if you're not risking it on the line against top opposition. Saying the "0" alone means Floyd is better than Oscar is like saying Calzaghe is higher on the ATG list than Roy or Hopkins. Floyd has fought in a weaker era and thus hasn't faced as high a competition level as Oscar did; he's even missed out on people in his own era. While neither is entirely his fault (having a weak era to fight in anyway; he definitely had control over his opposition choices, and took the road of least resistance more often than not).

Oscar got screwed over resume wise by getting jobbed against Trinidad, Mosley the second time, and fighting way past his best. Conversely, think about Floyd and the first Castillo fight. Had he lost that one, what would people say about his legacy? I for one respect him more for sacking up and taking a rematch with Castillo and getting a controversey-free win. I wouldn't consider it a huge mark against his legacy had he picked up an official L. The "0" doesn't/shouldn't make or break your legacy. DLH's only clean prime loss was against Mosley the first time. His other losses don't detract from how great a fighter he was, or that he consistently faced the best of his time and took on fights where he wasn't necessarily the favorite, both things Floyd has failed to do as often.

In my opinion, Floyd ranks higher at 130 and 135 both H2H and resume wise, but Oscar is superior in both of those regards at 140, 147, and 154. Hence, Oscar beats out Floyd.

Judah before he was upset by Baldomir, he was most definitely in the top 10. Also Cotto was always floating around top 10 win or lose.

****ing hilarious you say Pea was still game but discredit PBF's win over Oscar by saying he was faded. Not to mention you bring up Tito a fight in which he lost. Up to your old tricks again I see?

I stopped reading when i saw superior. Oscar fought superior level of opposition is just an assumption. How just bc he fought his named rivals at his weight class? And bc they are a couple of weightclasses higher than Floyd's opponents so therefore is superior?

Incorrect. How could that possibly be? Zab split fights with spinks and Cotto was dropped after the PAC loss

Whitaker is faded and smaller, while Oscar is fade but bigger and held all the terms coming off a good win ko of mayroga. I said Floyd beat a much better version.
