I remember Zab was up there after he became undisputed. And Cotto function a lot like JMM win and loss there are always there somewhere. I don't know how far Zab/Cotto fell when they got beat.

Not to mention that Floyd was more than Game and willing to fight anyone worth a damn in the lower weights but Kostya, Hamed, Mosley, Cotto, Morales all showed zero interest. Floyd was high risk and little reward at the time.

I don't think so. Even if he was, he was no longer P4p ranked when he and Floyd met up.

    That is undebiable.

Why do his losses count against him? Oscar was clearly past his best once he got up to 154, having been champ at 130, 135, 140, 147. His losses at 147 were a robbery against Trinidad, and a SD against Mosley... You can't possibly descredit him for those two losses..Really? Oscar has beat better opposition.

I disagree. How can Floyd be considered the best, or better when he did not fight the best at their best, or the better opposition. Floyd didn't even beat the better opposition.

So you're ranking Floyd higher because he didn't lose to fighters he could have fought, or fought them at their best? No, makes no sense.

He prolly fell off after Baldomir upset but the concept of why Floyd wanted to fight zab was bc on paper he was the best and division champ and p4p. The real Zab showed up for FLoyd anyways bc he fought at a much higher lvl against Floyd than Baldomir.

You stop reading whenever anybody fails to kneel at Floyd's feet. Like I said, he has a better resume at 130-135 but nowhere else.

130 competition: Corrales>Breidahl, Campanella. Edge: Floyd
135 competition: Castillo>Lejia, Ruelas, Hernandez, Molina. This one is pretty close, but I give Floyd the edge because I was more impressed with his H2H ability at this weight. Edge: Floyd
140 competition: Chavez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez>>>>>>>>>>>>Gatti. Edge: Oscar, big time.
147 competition: Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Prime Mosley>>>>Shot Mosley, Tree, Baldomir, Judah. DLH might have lost fair and square to prime Mosley, but he dominated Trinidad and edged out then P4P #1 Whitaker, and narrowly beat out Quartey. Edge: DLH, handily.
154 competition: Roided Vargas, Mayorga, Roided Prime Mosley>>>>>faded part time promoter Oscar, aging Cotto. Floyd's best win at 154 was a close, tough fight against a badly faded Oscar. Edge to Oscar again.

Take into account all the people Floyd missed during his career and the bull**** fake retirement when the welterweight field was crowded with quality opponents (and great resume/legacy building material), and it really isn't as close as you like to think.

Yes but the argument isn't about past p4p guys. That's like giving Oscar more credit over Chavez because Chavez used to be P4P. Makes no sense

i still remmber pbf crying in the ring after he beat b-level gatti for the wbc 140 belt. the same arturo that was already (t)ko'd by dlh and manfredy.

baldomir beat gatti a year later and it was ho-hum for carlos.

pbf is a great fighter but clearly did not follow the same path as prime dlh.

Whitaker was P4P#1, reigning Welterweight King.

Oscar was a promoter, WBC 154 Champion... Not sure about his P4P status in the weaker Era Floyd fought him.

there was no set of criteria anyways. As far as I can tell they both got a ATG resume. I picked Floyd mainly on his boxing skills are second to none and he is beating champs with complete control 90% of the time + longetivy.

When Oscar beat the living **** out of Gatti. Oscar was happy, but he was also like, meh....:-((

Oscar had bigger fish to fry, and had already fried some sharks way before.
