Whitaker more skilled (although Hagler was damn skilled), Hagler greater (although Whitaker was damn great)

    Gutted. :-(

Though I'm positive you're completely capable of mounting a fair case for him. This is what we've got so far, aside from the post I requested thecobra come in here and make for Marvin.

Someone in Classic made a truly groundbreaking discovery. :yep A major reason Marvelous gets so much love on boxing forums today.

Very tight space between them, on both counts.

The six year unified reign, multiplying quality of opposition faced by dominance against, for me just outdoes the utterly respectable combined multiple division championship runs of Pea. Hagler had eleven unified or at least poly-org defenses; Pea had six. Not all of Hagler's challengers at 160 were the stuff of legend, but about half of them were IBHOF caliber and a pair of ATGs. Pea actually beat a similar number of guys who either are inducted or by acclamation ought to be - however, he lacks the signature win over an ATG that Hagler has twice over. Maybe Nelson, but that doesn't stack against the 1-2 punch of half the Horsemen. The Chavez decision and Leonard decision going either man's way would significantly tip the scales, but as it is neither went down as a W (the merits of which can be and has been debated endlessly in both cases) so neither factors in.

They were both dominant in their own way and both faced a slew of very good to great fighters.

    It's a very tough call.

If you nitpick Hagler's crowning achievements (Hearns was tailor made for him and had a broken hand, yadda yadda - Duran was great or not a shot fat blown up bantamweight and Hagler still couldn't stop him and even gave away a large share, yadda yadda) and place a higher emphasis on weight-climbing than staying put and fortifying a stronghold, then I can see how it would come off as clearly game set match to Pea.

If you look at defining moments and h2h paramountcy versus relative threats, it is IMO close but clear for MMH.

Can't seem to log into it, man. Seems it correlated with the server upgrade somehow. slip&counter had the same issue, I think. He's now just " Slip! ". It's all good, though.

Not from this old G2 which is pretty much my primary access to the net. I basically enter the user info, check the box to save it but when I click to get in, it refeshes the log-in screen with the fields blank as if I never entered anything.

Hagler had the harder head. No one can argue about that...

I don't know if Whitaker vs Chavez decision is anything close to the competitiveness of Leonard/Hagler. There are close fights, and there are robberies. The Chavez/Pea draw was just that.

    The man has a point

I was gonna vote Hagler on the basis that Hagler was P4P#1 for like 4 years (but then again, he was practically on dat Mayweather schedule), but I think Whitaker takes it. Pea is often ranked highly in top ATG lists, often close to the top 10
