how is that recoed better than floyd jumping ...he had very few quality wins...I hate to put hopkins down...this is a tough question IMO it comes down to if they were the same weight who would win...and I feel it is PBF all day long
Mayweather might be more skilled, but based strictly on their resume's Hopkins wins, and it's not really close. PBF would have to be active at the top of the 140-154 level for another 5+ years to match Hopkins.
Hop b/c of his recent success and Mayweather retired 2 years early. But its close b/c Floyd went out in dominating fashion and I think Floyd could of did more in the ODH/Baldomir fight. He was too cautious but rightfully so fighting guys 15 pounds heavier. But Floyd is the better fighter b/c of his stamina to go along with his skills boxing brain. Bhop dismantled Tito and Pavlik and beat Tarver up. Other than that, most of his fights were not that dominating. Floyd stopped every big name guy at 130 he fought. Hernandez, Corrales, Chavez. They were all top level contenders or champs. That cant go unnoticed.
the difference in their resumes is Gatti vs Winky Wright, Zab Judah vs Antonio Tarver and BALDOMIR vs Pavlik
I dont get how people can say floyd is more skilled???? Bernard in his prime is way better then floyd in his prime!!!! Did anyone see the sean bay mitchell fight??? Floyd looked horrible!!!!!!! Did anyone see the zab judah fight?????? Looked horrible again!!!!! Did anyone see the baldomir fight???? Zab aint better then echols in his prime and hopkins got rid of him easy. Mr mitchell aint no better then trinnidad and hopkins put on a show. Floyd did ko mitchell but he got tagged alot imo and even stunned. By the way he waited for mitchell to get washed up before fighting him.
Hopkins in his prime was at least on an equal level as Floyd for stamina and technical skills and boxing brain. The likes of John David Jackson, Eastman, Echols, Holmes, Joppy, etc were not lower level fighters than most of Floyd's 130lbs challengers like Jesus Chavez, Manfreddy, Carlos Hernandez, etc, and Hopkins was very dominant in every one of his Middleweight defenses. There isn't much sperating them in what they achieved or how good they were at their best IMO. They rank very closely to each other.
