so we've seen alot of debate surrounding Haye and separatly Pavlik recently, mostly through the blinkered eyes of national pride.i've seen pavlik rank between 7-10 on most people's list with Haye ranking anywhere between 7-15.

but who objectively ranks higher P4P.

Pavlik; Unified MW champion, Jermain Taylor UD 12 Taylor TKO7
    Edison Miranda TKO7
    Jose Luis Zertuche KO8
    Fulgencio Zuniga TKO9

Haye; Undisputed CW champion, Enzo Maccaranelli TKO2
    Jean Marc Mormeck TKO7
    Giacobbe Fragomeni TKO9

Both have punishing right hands and a deathly straight punch, however for me Haye is much more dangerous on the offensive throwing from many different angles aswell as having great speed to come into the inside and for a cruiser his handspeed is second to none.
pavlik has relentless pressure and never allows his opponent to work on the outside standing at a massive 6'3 in the mw division,a piston like jab along with a hurtful straight right and overhand right, aided by solid footwork he sets up his opponents very well.

defensively though is where it becomes interesting that gives pavlik an edge, although no whitaker he fights of a solid high guard and although susceptible on the inside this is rarely allowed to happen.
we all know haye fights of a low left hand that has landed him in trouble in most fights often allowing himself to be caught by quick counters and also when he tries to come inside himself.
both have issues and criticisms over their chin, but realistically they have never really been life and death over than with Haye when he was green against thompson and with pavlik in round 2 against taylor where imo he withstood a huge barrage and recovered very well.

imo i have haye at 7 p4p with pavlik alongside him at 8.

    what do you guys think?

How is it that people are ranking both these fighters P4P when they have only fought at 1 weight class ????

th question is who ranks higher, but i understand what you mean.

the strength of a division can go a long way to legitimise a fighter's claim too of course.

in which case pavlik gets props.

haye by a mile. going into mormecks back yard in Paris, taking all his belts then adding the WBO belt to them by beating a good champion. defo no8 p4p for me.

Pavlik, like his style, but all he's got is a few wins against bgrade jermain, whos only success has come from dubiouse decisions............ need to see a lot more, p4p 13

Really how much success has Pavlik had out side of middle ?

And how much success has Haye had outside of cruiser ??

P4P is usually meant for those fighters who have had success at diffrent weight classes ..As far as I know Pavlik has only been successful at 1 weight class 1 !!!

By a mile? Are you serious?

Don't give me that Miranda bull****, the guy is a club fighter with clubbing hands.

Pavlik's only name on his record is two victories over Taylor, of which I actually scored the second fight myself to Jermain.

Thats it. Thats what you call miles better than Hayes!!!:-(

David Haye fought as good a fighter as Taylor in his tenth pro fight in Carl.

and yet he has beaten taylor twice, who beat hopkins twice.....

why does multi-weight have to count if the opposition and being relative to their prime doesn't match up to someone else's ?

    pavlik versus calzaghe.

    go.

Haye fought at Heavy for one fight, and won by 1st round KO. Pavlik fought Taylor at a catch weight and won a 12 round UD. Calzaghe fought one fight outside Super Middle and some rate him P4P #2. Not me, but some.
