Who ranks higher P4P, Haye or Pavlik?

    pavlik b/c hes beat bigger names but if david haye fulfills his promise at HW then watch and waaaay more ppl will know him then pavlik

    there's the problem right there,bigger names rarely means better names other than in the eyes of the mass media,its a poor system that unfortunately affects all of us.

    for example people will overrate pavlik's win over taylor,sensationalise it even and then diminish haye's win over mormeck.

    he was green,got gassed while near ko'ing the experienced opponent and eventually ran out of steam,to judge haye on that performance would be like judging hopkins on his indifferent start.

    I don't judge him on that performance but Smith was trying to say by losing to Thompson that's some great accomplishment that makes him better then Pavlik.

    well smith's a self righteous arrogant prat only interested in his own opinion rather than that of anyone else so i wouldn't take what he says as anyone's truth.

    Pavlik is higher pound for pound clearly.

    Pavlik's resume:

    Taylor (twice)- Taylor was top ten P4P when Pavlik stopped him in there first fight. Best win of the two.

    Miranda- Probably the hardest hitter in boxing althought very crude. Still Miranda is a very very dangerous and avioded fighter and Pavlik dismantled him. Only Haye's win over Mormeck is better.

    Zuniga, Zertuche, McKart and Brewer. All average to good wins.

    Haye's resume:

    Jean Marc Mormeck- Great win over a very very good fighter. Mormeck was top 20 P4P at the time when Haye stopped him. Only Pavlik's win over Taylor is better.

    Enzo Maccarinelli: Like Miranda, Mac is a very hard puncher but also very crude. Very good win but Pavlik's win over Miranda is better.

    Fragomeni, Gurov, Williams and Rossitto. All average to good wins.

    Pavlik > Haye

    If Haye was to beat Steve Cunningham or a top 10 Heavyweight while Pavlik is on his two fight bum run then I'd put him ahead of Pavlik.

    you're statement clearly poses problems when you yourself admit that their resumes are pretty close with your opinion being that only taylors win shines over anything haye has done,this does not make anything clear and i would say by your opinion that pavlik is only marginally ahead of haye.

    do you take into account only resume when doing p4p,or does their h2h ability hold any weight for you as it is where i feel that real questions over their standings are made?

    Resume and resume only. Who people THINK you can beat doesn't mean **** unless you beat them.

    Most people think RJJ beats every fighter from 160-175 during his era BUT he didn't fight most of them. That's why instead of being top 10 P4P all time he's only top 30.
