Who ranks higher P4P, Haye or Pavlik?

    When your talking about current boxers P4P should be only be judged by the fighters resume. Just my opinion.

    yea but some boxers in different divisons resumes are so close and often inseparable that we often have to look at their h2h ability.just my opinion.

    Hate to jump into this debate again but I actually don't compose my p4p list based off of resume alone. Obviously guys that I have in my top 10 p4p wouldn't be on the list if it was resume alone. A guy like Joan Guzman would barely make top 30 p4p if we went by resume alone, and its not his fault that he is avoided like the plague

    out of curiousity what is your top 10?gamboa in there yet,based on h2h lol

    just ****ing around,a few more fights and he will be in the top 30 though.

    :rofl no he's not in my top 10....he's #11. Ok kidding, but I don't have my top 10 list on hand but off the top of my head im pretty sure it goes something like this:

    1) PBF
    2) Pac
    3) JC
    4) Cotto
    5) JMM
    6) Vazquez
    7) Guzman
    8) Marquez
    9) Mijares
    10) Pavlik

    guzman at no.7 is pretty crazy considering his resume and his unproven ability,id have him top 20 but 7 imo is generous.you should have haye in there instead lol

    I am a bit of a Guzman hugger :D . But seriously the guy is ducked about as bad as it gets and has insane skills. Too bad he's slightly past his prime now (imo anyways). Now that I think about it though I might have him at 8 or 9...I can't remember. I still favor him over plenty of guys with his move up to 135. Mainly because its the same group of guys from 130 and he is just chasing them around hoping for a fight.

    Another problem I have with Haye on a lot of peoples p4p lists is that I have seen him ahead of Wlad many times, which isn't right imo. One of those things where they aren't far apart p4p, but yet I think Wlad should easily get the nod. For example I believe I have Wlad at 15 and Haye at 17 if I remember right

    Pavlik has clearly the better opposition. Plus taylor is rank higher p4p than mormeck and pavlik beat him twice. So pavlik gets more credit than haye will.

    Pavlik is clearly higher p4p

    i take your point about wlad,but surely him fighting such weak opposition along with his physical advantages somewhat diminishes his p4p status,for example haye blasting out someone bigger than him in enzo macc holds more credibility p4p than wlad pawing a chubby cruiserweight for 12 rounds?i don't know about p4p,i've never made a list and usually just estimate where i'd have someone based on achievements and h2h and i just see haye as slightly past pavlik,however the media plays a big part in it,i'm exposed to alot of british media coverage which glorifies haye much as the american will be exposed to alot of pavlik sensationalism,it's kind of shown in the poll results with the vast majority voting for haye being british and the vast majority for pavlik american.

    there certainly isnt a hell of a lot of people i'd place ahead of haye or pavlik based on their current positions in their respective weight classes but i would be willing to listen to claims of having someone like jmm or cotto well ahead of both for example,i dont know,the heavier weights mw and up seem to come in for alot bashing when talking of p4p.

    Kelly Pavlik for now. David Haye's future is bright - but Pavlik's victory over Taylor was against an undefeated champion. Mormeck was a good champion - but he was not undefeated. Haye is once beaten. Pavlik still has his "0".

    Pound for pound rankings are subjective it is not just based on what a fighter has achieved but the manner in which they have wan indicating their level of ability and based on this I would rank Haye higher than Pavlik who is more of a tough old work horse.
