Gah! I can't stand Floyd. But I rate him highly. The first time I saw him cry because no one appreciates him and his art and his specialness, I got literally nauseous. I think he'd probably beat Mosley and Pacquiao but I'd be sitting their just hoping one great shot lands on the point of his douchey chin and he's out like a light. But I'm the kind of guy that would immediately feel sorry for him and like him a little bit after he loses unless he becomes a much bigger douche bag.

As for favorites, I tend to try not to be too invested in one guy. They have a tendency to disappoint. Every once in a while, a Duran will quit or a Mosley will confess to using mystery potion number 5, and it's just not worth the frustration. Still, Joe Frazier and Marvin Hagler are two of my all-time favorites. Floyd Patterson, Archie Moore, Bob Foster, who I'm convinced was really eleven feet tall and under 100 pounds, but they lied and used faulty scales and bad camera angles to make it look otherwise. Those are some of my favorites. For more recent guys, I definitely appreciate MAB, but not as much as...certain people. And Marquez, but more than...certain people. And you know, I'm always rooting Penalosa on and hoping he manages to not get screwed by the judges.

 Wow we're so similar it's not even funny. The only reason I got to be big admirer of Marco was because I tuned in on him getting a unholy beat down by Manny Pacquiao sometime in 2003. I wasn't even a fan of the sport, I came to it by accident because it was being replayed on Eurosport. the rest is history. I feel terrible for fighters who get beat badly, and I usually become a fan afterward. Penalosa is one of my favorite active fighters and of all time, I have like 7 of his older fighters on DVD. Beautiful technician.

Pacs beats a couple of Mayweather left overs and a shot Cotto, while avoiding anyone with a good right hand, so he leap frogs Mayweather? NOPE  If so, what about JMM, he beat Pacquaio twice

They are now officially the same size and Mayweather would kick his ass at any weight from 130-147, as you'll see later in the year

    According to your standards, yes.

Or did you forget how much credit YOU heaped on Mayweather for beating the same DeLaHoya and Hatton earlier in this thread?
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2015863&postcount=4 :deal

As for Cotto, he was nowhere near as "shot"(to quote your word choice) as Hernandez when Mayweather beat him, and that wasn't enough to deter you from giving Mayweather credit for beating him.

No they're not. Pacquiao fought at 140 last year, while Mayweather can't even make a catchweight.

Watch the video, Freddy Roach himself admitting Hatton/Cotto were both damaged goods coming into the Pacman fights and admitting Oscar was dead at the weight and further faded

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CL1HGwQpqCo&annotation_id=annotation_809500&feature=iv[/ame]

Nothing to show Hernandez looked damaged goods in the same way

I gathered you posted this one after the Pac/Hatton fight, your initial post before this was posted after Diaz/Pac fight.

Well now, you can say both then - Hatton "and" Cotto. :good

Hernandez admitted that he was damaged goods prior to his fight with Mayweather, but that didn't deter you from giving Mayweather full credit for the win.

    Except the fight itself.

    1. Stooping to making things up now?
    2. What Mayweather outboxing and dominating an opponent makes them damaged goods? OK if you say so :patsch Either way not quite the same as Pacquaios opponents who have looked done way before he got in the ring with them

Really I never heard that? He was coming into the fight with a pretty stellar record and good recent wins and all of a sudden hes shot? He hadnt lost a fight in three years? Hernandez was a solid fighter just outclassed by Mayweather.

No, repeating quotes that were confirmed by HBO's commentators.

No, an opponent actually looking like and being damaged goods makes them damaged goods.

"Way before"? I guess that would make them "done" when they fought Mayweather too then. :think

    1. Before or after? Wheres the source? I have a feeling it your making it up as your unlikely to be watching much Mayweather footage to know.

Even if he did Im pretty sure he didnt use the term 'damaged gods in the sense he'd be ruined like Cotto/Hatton were, simply because he wasnt

    2. In what way did he looked damaged goods other than he was in with a clearly better fighter? He wasnt getting beat up by lesser fighters like Hatton, Morales and getting gifts like Cotto

    3. Mayweather ruined Hatton so no, the weight ruined DLH, Morales had just lost 2fights to Raheem (where he got out out)and MAB, Maragarito ruined Cotto who'd get a gift against Clottey, MAB in the rematch

All of these looked clearly past it and bordering shot before Pacman got in the ring with them

You have to put into consideration that: It's not his fault that the fighter he fought at fight night becomes shot. Thing is he beats all competition thrown or put infront of him. Don't deny him that.

Like, Oscar's betting odds gap to Pac is 4:1. It's like a fantasy match, crazy 130 pounder fighting Oscar for his last big cash before retiring. Surprisingly, Pac won. Don't shoot down Pac just because Oscar is weight drained to the division limit (WW) he himself chooses to challenge Pac on. Same goes to Hatton and Cotto (coming off a win over Mosley/Clottey), it's not Pac's fault they come up short.

I agree that Pac's wins opponents are overrated. But when Pac fights them - the gap or competition between him and his opponent/s as of late are: staggeringly far away, it's like Pac is three leagues apart. His last 4 fights are tremendous domination - all TKO/KO. Put that into consideration too.
