I remember the fight being pretty close because Floyd was fairly green at the time only 15 or 16 fights and Hernandez was very seasoned. I was very impressed with Floyds performance, and moreso when he demolished Angel Manfredy who was on a roll at the time.
Hernandez knew he was going to have a lot of problems because of Mayweathers speed, just as he did with ODLH.

How about my point about: his wins are staggerignly way above the league of his opponents? That can make up to gain back the credit, no?

Well people forget how green Mayweather really was at that time. We've seen similar scenarios with Vargas and David Reid end very badly for those fighters. Mayweather went on to have a long career. He could have just as easily been roughed up and beat up by Hernandez if he wasnt ready.

The wins are very good, he just needs to take a great fighter in his prime, wonder where he could find 1 :yep

Thats the 1 way to really answer the thread, much like Whitaker-Chavez

Around 18 to 20 already. Floyd had a decent length of amateur career and got picked by Arum - a major promotion company because he's from a family of fighters / good trainers. For that calibre, 18 or so fights isn't green. i reckon, Gamboa's current pro fights are fewer than 18. Not that it's relevant but i hope you got the drift.

From your quote of him, he didn't say those words. Did you assume that's going thru his mind? The way how i interpret your quote: Hernandez is pretty confident he'll win at the start. Then, Hernandez' lost confidence due to his failed training camp, no?

I agree at the start there was an inconsistent information floating around, which basicaly involves the manager releasing a press statement about a 144 catch weight. But that was dispelled by Arum and Roach a week after. That's when critics dropped the criticism about this fight on catchweight. I also get to see one of the recent interviews where Pac was asked the limit, he answered 147.

Floyd had 17 fights just checked. I dont really know what was going on through his mind. Its my opinion that Hernandez would have always had problems with Floyd because of his speed. Hernandez was a good solid fighter, but Floyd was just too fast for him and he had already shown problems with a quick fighter. I dont think Hernandez could have done much more, except maybe prolonging his beating, he was just too slow, just as Diego Corrales was when they met.
The funny thing is Floyd was thought to be taking on dangerous tough challenges when he was coming out of the olympics, and now hes looked at so differently, amazing really but he acts like such a douche bag its hard to like the guy. I thought he was going to have problems with some of the guys he faced, Manfredy, even Corrales, who was crushing guys at that time.
