Tapia. Marquez isn't close, imo. Three division world champion. 13 title defenses at super flyweight, and unified titles there. Was a Bantamweight champion twice.

Johnny Tapia. Feel he was a better fighter in his prime too.

H2H at Bantamweight I like Marquez but in terms of legacy and who has accomplished more it's tapia by a country mile.

H2H probably be a great fight, marquez sd or something

Legacy - Tapia by a long shot due to his Junior bantamweight reign(imho top5since that category existed!)

Please repeat the question, with clarification.

Higher at bantamweight, or as a fighter period (what some call p4p, although that term has been *******ized enough that it's best avoided altogether)? :huh

Marquez is obviously the better bantamweight both in accomplishment and h2h.

Tapia is the greater overall fighter.

    Two of my all-time favorites.

I don't really see the argument for Marquez, even though I think Marquez is an excellent fighter. Is it just on the popularity of the trilogy (let's still call it a trilogy?) that this poll is showing Marquez the favorite or am I missing something?

Missing nothing...it's widely known that Johny Tapia is one of the more underrated and under-appreciated fighters of the last 20 years. If he had been a Welterweight, he'd have been a superstar.

This is you-know-whose thread, so I have to also question if I'm missing the connection to Pac....Pacqui-...wait a minute...Marquez just beat Vazquez, who was once beaten by Larios... who Pacquiao beat! And...Tapia...uh...oh, man. Tapia was beaten by Barrera, who Juan Manuel Marquez beat, who in turn was beaten by Pacquiao...damn, my head hurts.

Tapia isn't the best superfly ever imo(though he's up there in the upper-echelon) but he was twice the fighter Marquez was in his prime and the one that still had a lot left at the start of his Bantam days would have boxed rings around Marquez.

Rafa was fun, but he's genuinely overrated on this board imo.

Yeah...there's probably more deserving fighters...I guess my top 5 would look like this after thinking about it.

    1. Galaxy
    2. Moon
    3. Roman
    4. Tapia
    5. Watanabe

I think Tapia does very very well H2H.
