Pretty clearly Tszyu at this stage..I think Ricky would have to do more then beat Pac to surpass him IMO.
I agree that, that is the general consensus but when you look at Tszyus resume it is not that strong (not that Hattons is). I think a win over pac would be greater than anything Tszue ever did.
Most agreed. I'm a Tszyu-Crew head from way back, but Kostya's record leaves a great deal to be desired. It seems like he fought once every two years at his peak.
Its not that strong but I think it is certainly better then Ricky's at the moment. Kostya perhaps didnt fight to many to shelf names but during his whole career he never really had a run of wins where he was fighting a very low calibre of opposition, unlike Ricky...Early in his career it was often against past prime but still capable fighters, several former world champs. After his first loss he jumped right back in with a ranked contender and then beat an exchamp in rueles..who wasnt dethroned that long before they fought. I also think a prime Kostya is a level above Hatton...with Hatton's style making a prime H2H matchup much closer. Id honestly see Hatton having a hard time beating guys like Judah, Urkal and a prime Vince Phillips, for different reasons...Niot that he couldnt beat them but I think Zab would have knocked him out. I also reckon a guy like Bergman could give him some grief with his left hook. Ricky is getting there...Pac is the first step..Another few good wins you would have a hard time argueing Kostya over him.
I agree that Kosta is perhaps currently on top, but I don't think there's the ocean of difference between the two people like to make out (certainly not in resume). A win over Pac would present a very good case for Hatton being above Kosta, imo.
I just dont think it would considering how far Pac has come up in weight...I wouldnt even have Ricky no1 p4p if he beat him, because it would defeat the purpose of the term. Though it would things make things a lot closer...I would listen to an arguement of Hatton over him especially considering Ricky did pick a trinket at another weight.
