Undeniable cases of injuries. Want to be fair, be fair all the way. I'd say Lewis is head to head, only slightly, if any, better fighter than Vitali. I mean I'd pick Lewis prime for prime, but wouldn't be very confident in it.
I think there's a difference between H2H consideration and greatness. H2H, I'd give Wlad or Vitali odds against just about any heavyweight in history. But in terms of greatness, they're just two very unlucky fellas that there's nobody who will be able to give them a signature win against a hall of famer, not even a past prime hall of famer. That will always keep their ranking down.
I agree, that's why I said H2H, not overall. knockout artist said Vitali blew his chances like he showed nothing in those fights and these unlucky injuries played no part in them. I find it very unfair, ignorant or trolling to say that. Vitali is a match for anyone really, just didn't have a chance to prove himself enough imo.
Undeniable case of injuries? Not this nonsense again. In the 9th round against Byrd before he quit against Byrd, he was using that left hand, he could have seen out the fight. The truth is, it was a much closer fight than the scorecards suggested, the tide had well and truly turned, Byrd was walking him down, humiliating him, making him miss and beating him up. Vitali quit, because he thought he'd lose and didn't want to take that beating for a few more rounds. Against Lennox, he almost hit the jackpot, Lewis was out of shape, overweight and thinking about retirement. Vitali was in his prime, and motivated. The truth is, Vitali isn't as good as his fans make out. Vitali had some success in the early rounds, where Lennox had started very slowly, looking the worst he had ever looked, Lennox was sluggish and uncoordinated, Vitali was giving the performance of his life. Lennox figured out Vitali's awkward style, and started busting his face open. It's a legit stoppage, Vitali didn't defend himself properly, and almost got his whole face punched off. Once again, getting stopped by the best fighter he faced. Lennox only a slightly better fighter? Come off. Lennox proved himself against far better competition, and way past his prime, still managed to stop Vitali, prime Lennox would have done it more brutally, Vitali would have gotten outboxed and beaten up by prime Lennox. Wins over Danny Williams, Arreola and Sam Peter compared to wins over Tua, Ruddock, Golota, Grant, Bruno Holyfield and I could keep going. No I'm not trolling, Vitali's legacy is based on his longevity and dominance over sub-standard fighters. A Hall of Famer for sure, but he's not an ATG. He is significantly inferior to Lennox in terms of legacy, and in his ability as a fighter, if you want me to explain how Lennox is a significantly better fighter, I can.
Considering Klit fans act in such a shameful manner, they must have hundreds of alts because of the humiliation they bring upon themselves.Lennox can't win a poll here. Doesn't even deserve a poll, like asking "who ranks higher,Felix Sturm or Marvin Hagler?"
