Solis is an aggressive tank? Always thought Solis style was more suited toward Vitali than Wlad's.

Hm. So does this mean that Carnera holds the record for most heavyweight division victories and knockouts of any heavyweight champ? That's interesting.

Still Liston! I guess it's getting closer every year but it's hard to catch up to knocking out an ATG in the first round TWICE for the champinoship. REALLY HARD!

I think Solis's hands are really fast. I guess deceptively!

I think Patterson is a Top20 heavyweight of all time, and better than anyone in Wlad's resume...but he's not an All Time Great.

    Don't start, garlic-face.

You think he's a top twenty of a one-hundred-plus-years-old heavyweight division, where he was nearly always at a size disadvantage, because he was really no naturally larger than today's typical full-sized SMW, but he's not an ATG? :think Our definitions of ATG may differ, kind Asterion. I count him as an ATG, personally.

from Liston 31 of his 50 wins were on guys who lost 1-2 matches in their previous 2 fights.

If Wlad has Steward since the beginning he would have been regarded as a top 10 hw by everyone now.

Ya see, I just don't agree with this point.

The fighters Wlad beat are the worst collection of fighters I have ever seen.

The fighters have to be of some worth to bump his legacy. I rank performances too and David Haye's sorry showing against Wlad reduces his standing as a fighter.

What you can do on paper is all fine and dandy - when Haye said he was going to get close and destroy but pranced about instead it was a prime example of how bad things have become - when the biggest HW fight in years can't even be mildly entertaining because they're both too scared you know there's something terribly wrong, and it's called incompetence!

And I will repeat, Vitali stepping in and beating Sanders is absolutely inexcusable. Made all the worse for the fact he won't fight his brother.

Mediocrity and direness mixed with more of the same doesn't = good.

Hell, there was more of an effort put in by Patterson in the Liston rematch than I can recall in a Wlad opponent.

Well you have Liston who cleaned out a division was disposed by most people's number 1 and kept beating everyone after. Then you have Wlad who pretty much cleaned house and kept on a long reign. I'd probably go with Waldo, he has a deeper resume

At least Wlad never QUIT while sitting on his stool as champion as Liston did in 1964...

Goes down in history as one of the worst title reigns in the division.

For me, a lot. Contenders Vitali has beaten would definitely bolster Wlad's resume. Sanders, Arreola. Not to mention Vitali himself would launch him top 8 or so ATG wise.

For now, it's Liston #12 and Wlad #14/15 ATG-wise for me.
