Manny has a country with a population that is not that far off the US population during Louis' time behind him and everyone there worships him. He will become their president if he runs.

Louis existed when there was limited media. You're comparing millions of Americans listing to Louis fights on the radio with hundreds of millions of people, if not billions, knowing who Manny Pacquiao is.

He is running and he is polling at 8.9%:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_2022_Philippine_presidential_election Filipinos definitely respect his accomplishments in the ring and the glory he has brought to their country but they don't want him as their president.

Louis had just as much longevity and he was dominant over a 12 year reign. Winning 25 title defenses. Pacquiao does deserve to be right there in that company his rise through the weight classes was uncommon. Manny always beatable though as a Morales or Marquez would remind us. As opposed to Louis who after his loss in '36 to Schmeling was the Boogeyman.

I give Joe Louis an edge.

I think we're discussing things on parallel tracks. Mike Tyson isn't an ATG pound for pound fighter but his impact on the culture was huge for better and worse

I'll never understand people who add "cultural impact" as a criteria for ATG lists.

I feel that Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali are one of those rare breed of heavyweights that can make it to a All Time P4P List since they dominated an abnormal amount of Hall of Famers in their weight classes. Even common fighters that predominantly fought in 1 weight class that you see in all time P4P lists like Willie Pep, Marvin Hagler, Jimmy Wilde, LIGHTWEIGHT Roberto Duran, BANTAMWEIGHT Eder Jofre ,and Carlos Monzon did not defeat the large amount of Hall of Famers like Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali did in their weight class.

Doubt it. A big chunk of the world never cared for boxing.

Hitler was not that big a boxing fan. Stop blowing boxing matches out of proportion.

The war did not happen because of Hitler's "white supremacy". FFS, the allies were also white supremacist.

To the OP, Pac > Ali.

Post something from an academic source. Did Schmeling beating Louis prove the supremacy of Hitler's ideas?

    Definitely Joe Louis.
There are few boxers in history who can be compared to Joe (by the number of defending heavyweight titles-none). Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, and still few. There is no disrespect to Manny Pacquiao, who was a champion in 8 categories (would he have been a champion in 8 categories at the time Joe was boxing? :) ). Joe's defeats come from bigger names and fewer (Max Schmeling, Ezzard Charles, Rocky Marciano). In my opinion, this is not even for comparison.

Muhammad Ali was on Time Magazine's list of 100 most influential persons of the 20th century:

    https://shkola.of.by/list-of-time-magazines-100-most-influential-people-of-the-20th.html

and is one of the three most influential Black Americans of the twentieth century.

As to the world stopping Muhammad Ali knew the most prominent world figures of the latter half of the twentieth century.
