Here is my scorecard... Round 1: 10-9 This content is protected [Hagler's failed Orthodox attempt] Round 2: 9-10 This content is protected [Hagler start's his unoticed body work, SRL steals it] Round 3: 10-9 This content is protected [Perfect Stick and move by Leonard] Round 4: 10-9 This content is protected [2 very hard low blows by Leonard] Round 5: 9-10 Hagler [Leonard staggered by an uppercut] Round 6: 9-10 Hagler [Leonard's feeling the body work] Round 7: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler's jab dominates the round against the flurry's] Round 8: 9-10 Hagler [Yet another Punch at the bell by Leonard, Foul] Round 9: 9-10 Hagler [Nice flurry's by Leonard, but 80% blocked] Round 10: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler has killed SRL's body the entire fight] Round 11: 9-10 Hagler [Hagler Beating Leonard on the inside] Round 12: 10-9 This content is protected [Leonard showboat's the round ] (7 -5) 115 Hagler 113 Leonard IMO, This fight was defo judged on the crowd reaction. And Leonard's backstory, also because he did not get Knocked out. Hagler landed the harder shot's and out jabbed and beat Leonard's body the entire fight. Clear win by Marvelous. IMO
I don't score flurries and activity either A man after my own heart. That's the reason Hopkins beat Calzaghe, and it's the reason Hagler drew with Leonard IMO.
I cant believe the one judge who only gave Marvin two round though, what fight was he watching atsch :-(
I scored a Calzaghe win over Hopkins by about the same margin as I did Leonard over Hagler. By around three - four points. Different ways of seeing fights I suppose, but I've always thought Ray in particular won reasonably clearly.
i've watched this fight 5-7 times, from start to finish. and I still get the same score, muted, unmuted, etc: Round 1: 10-9 This content is protected [Slow start for Hagler] Round 2: 10-9 This content is protected [SRL steals the round with stick and move, but Hagler works the body] Round 3: 10-9 This content is protected [More stick and move by SRL, hagler just following] Round 4: 10-9 This content is protected [Low blows by Leanard, but Hagler doesn' ***** and keeps on] Round 5: 9-10 Hagler [SRL hurt with uppercut, hagler very effective work] Round 6: 9-10 Hagler [More Hagler pressure, lots of body work, SRL just running] Round 7: 9-10 Hagler [SRL tries some flurries, but Hagler's Jab and Body hooks dominate] Round 8: 9-10 Hagler [More of the same, with SRL hitting after the bell...he's frustrated] Round 9: 10-9 This content is protected [Buncha flurries by leonard, but nothing really lands. Could have gone either] Round 10: 9-10 Hagler [SRL's body is just being pummeled by Hagler...ouch] Round 11: 9-10 Hagler [lots of grab and hold, inside, but Hagler punishing the body on the inside] Round 12: 9-10 Hagler[Leonard showboat's the round, but nothing lands...hagler the aggresor ] (7 -5) 115 Hagler 113 Leonard 7-5 Hagler. I Hagler gave away some early rounds, but the last 3 he put the pressure on and was landing the more significant blows. SRL had a lot of flashy flurries but he didn't really land effectively, specially in those last 3 rounds. I could see it as a draw too, but Hagler got the edge IMO.
I thought Leonard won the fight. The problem was that Hagler let SRL steal alot of early rounds. The outcome of the fight reminds me of Pac vs JMM 2. It was a close fight, but no problem with the outcome. But I wish there was a rematch, but Hagler retired
i scored it by one round to leonard, but can understand people giving it to hagler.in fairness though it wasn't one of marvin's better efforts.
