I had Canelo 7-5 no joke. I was watching this on Box Azteca, and the commentators, some of which are known Canelo haters, all agreed with the unofficial Lamazon card of 116-112 for Canelo. I'm highly looking forward to seeing the replay next week on HBO.
Had it 8-4 GGG, could see it 7-5 GGG. Anything beyond that, you were watching this fight with clear bias in favor of Canelo. Byrd clearly was bribed. No way any "professional" judge can be THAT incompetent.
8 to 4 Golovkin....how anyone could say Canelo won that fight is beyond Me....the People that say Canelo won is exactly what is wrong with Boxing at the Moment...
No more biased than you are for saying that G won 8-4 or 7-5. I don't like the insinuation that you can't be taken seriously if you thought Canelo won. It was a very close fight. If you prefer aggression you probably thought G won, if you prefer clean effective punching you probably thought Canelo won. The fact is that most fans in general like fighters that come forward, so they are giving rounds to G for coming forward. This isn't hard to understand. I'm a student of the sweet science, personally I think just scoring it for a guy coming forward is lazy judging.
How can Canelo have possibly won 6 rounds or more? He fought in spurts and not nearly enough of them to warrant 6+ rounds. Not when a bigger, stronger more powerful fighter is stalking relentlessly and throwing way more punches and landed almost double the punches upstairs! The only way Canelo could have gotten a draw, is if he knocked GGG down a couple times and had a couple 10-8 rounds.
GGG didn't throw **** when he had Canelo against ropes. GGG gets no credit for coming forward and taking a beating. 10 - 2 Alvarez.
