I did upon first viewing, I still haven't rescored it with the sound off, etc. I will get around to doing that when HBO releases the fight to youtube for free viewing!
They are either trolls, or they hate offensive style fighters, think boxing is all about defense and give the guy playing defense points whether it's effective or not.
Now the reverse...... They are either trolls, or they hate science style fighters, think boxing is all about walking forward and give the guy walking forward points whether it's effective or not. Goes both ways. The more effective puncher was Canelo and he was the more defensive fighter.
The true winners were the corrup and crooked promoters, judges and commisions.. Obviously.. As far as the fight goes.. I had it close.. I had GGG 115-113... Canelo fought well although not fan friendly fight style from him style it was a great performance by both guys.. It speaks for itself though.. Put up a thousand polls here, or on any other website and theres only one clear winner #GGG...There is a great article from Gerardo Granados on this website about how fans and both fighters got screwed by this and which shows many tweets and comments from other pros and fighters..
To me for most of the Fight Canelo was in Survival Mode...fought a few Good Flurries and looked OK...but doing that fo 30 seconds a round does not win you the Fight or even get you a draw for that Matter...
I seem to be in the minority. Even though I was rooting for Golovkin, I thought Canelo won and did so convincingly in a competitive fight. I had Canelo winning 7-8 rounds. Golovkin gave away too many early rounds, he spent too much time fighting Canelo's fight. He allowed Canelo to take the centre of the ring for long periods, he was missing with a lot of punches and was getting caught with good counters throughout the fight. Golovkin was more consistent with his work rate and pressure but it wasn't effective pressure for long periods of the fight, he really didn't even start to get going until the 6th. Look at the 4th when he had Canelo on the ropes for a good 10 seconds or so and he didn't dare unload on Canelo, he had been caught with too many counters in previous rounds as Canelo was setting traps for Golovkin when backed up. Canelo's defensive skills and counter punching were the difference, he punished Gennady when he missed but Golovkin couldn't do the same, he was left hitting air all too often. Golovkin also seemed to ignore the body for most of the fight. Canelo also showed a damn good chin, he got caught with some bombs but took them well. It's all too easy to give the supposed punchers shots too much emphasis when scoring, but you actually have to see what is happening in the ring not what you think is happening based off of preconceived ideas of each fighter. Golovkin may have been seen as the puncher going in but he didn't show it. Canelo didn't wilt under that power in fact Canelo seemed more willing to trade with Golovkin as the fight wore on.
LOL "More complete fighter' What do they even mean by that? It's like they make up new phrases to fit their warped interpretations of they vies the World.
I laugh at the claims that Canelo "controlled the fight" Canelo fights on the ropes and in spots because he can't fight for 3 minutes of a round like Golovkin. He fought his fight yes, and Golovkin fought his much better lol. Which is why he should have won a clear 117-111 or 116-112 decision.
LMAO at the 38, when you are on the side of Dino you should seriously step back and question yourself. Other than that 90% is pretty damn unanimous and consistent with the media scores.
