The thing is, Canelo said he would KO GGG, not the other way around. Sanchez said if we dont knock him out its our fault, knowing they would try to steal it. GGG never says he will KO anybody, he says i dont know I'm not God.

His back never touched the ropes because GGG don't know how to fight off the ropes. He's not as skilled or as versatile as Canelo is so he couldn't do the kind of things Canelo did in Fight 1.

Golovkin never pinned Canelo to the ropes over 24 rounds of boxing.. it was GGG who was meant to be the superior ring cutter off'er.

Often when Canelo went to the ropes GGG kept his distance because he knew he was being lured into a trap.

    See ^^

He played it safe. . You can't play it safe in these type of fights. You gotta take risks . GGG never took any risks. He fought timid and refused to throw hooks and body shots. He never landed the right hand either.

Canelo took way more risks and threw and landed with far more variation. Thats why he won. Spamming jabs just doesn't catch the eye of the judges.

Dude just a general trash casual opinion. The only thing you've proved is that you do not know how to score fights, at all. Embarassing you Canelo ball sniffers actually believe the **** you've said... Utterly embarassing and far from the objective truth

    Clearly losing 3, 5, 6...OK I can't respond to this, complete moron

3 and half years later this still gets to me. GGG won the fight simply by winning more rounds, he out worked Canelo. Alvarez done some nice work in there and made it a good fight but he simply didn't do enough.

I also scored the 2nd fight for Golovkin. Again I feel he worked harder and took that extra round however I don't have a problem with anyone who scored it for Canelo. Alvarez was very good in the 2nd fight. One of them where both had a case.

The phrase YDKSAB shouldn't be used in either of these fights because they were subjective, especially the 2nd contest.

What you mean he got outworked?

GGG was made to miss 500 punches first time. Thats a huge number and the judges notice it sitting ringside.

Making GGG miss that much while outlanding him in the power punch category is why the first fight was so close.

Canelo did well in the areas where fights are scored. Ring general ship , defence , clean effective striking.

His ring generalship shut down GGGs offensive , he made him miss the majority of his shots , he landed the more cleaner , harder and more varied blows.

Saying that , the fight was very close and i didn't score it to Canelo. . I gave him the first 3 and last 3. A draw.

In the rematch, all 3 judges were in unanimous agreement that GGG won rounds 1 and 4, while Canelo won rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6. In contrast to the last 6 rounds, these first 6 rounds were pretty easy rounds to score. I know a couple of people tried to argue GGG won round 5, but aside from that, pretty much everyone was in agreement as to who won the first 6 rounds. It sounds like you disagree with the consensus here, you're in the minority if see any of these rounds differently. You argued that GGG won the rematch either 8-4 or 9-3. This means that, unless you disagree with the scoring of the first 6 rounds, you would have to give GGG every round 7-12 to have him winning the rematch 8 rounds to 4. To have him winning it 9 rounds to 3 you'd need to give him every round 7-12 AND at least one of (round 2, round 3, round 5 or round 6) which almost everyone universally agreed were Canelo rounds.

Your appeal to corrupt judges is embarassing. And your idea that "almost everyone" unanimously agreed rounds is 1 based on nonexistent evidence and two is a poor basis for any argument. Most people are casuals and have no idea what a scoring blow is (yes you shadow) and can't tell elbows from body and gloves from head.

If you genuinenly think rounds 3, 5, 6 you're just a moronic as those incompetent /corrupt judges. You clearly have a liking for Canelo so there is absolutely no point in trying to debate you. Sit down and watch the rounds properly and actually watch where punches land

I just re-watched rounds 1 - 3 last night. There's no doubt in my mind that GGG won round 1 then Canelo won rounds 2 and 3. These were not hard rounds to score. Round 1 was essentially a jabbing contest, it had the lowest amount of power punches landed or thrown (by either fighter) of any other round. GGG won the battle of jabbing in round 1 pretty clearly. Round 2 things changed, Canelo started to take the fight to GGG and started loading up and landing heavy power punches that made an impact. There was a clear distinction between the effectiveness and impact of the power punches Canelo landed vs the power punches that GGG landed. One guy was throwing hard heavy leather (Canelo) the other guy (GGG) was backing away and throwing weak punches in return. Round 3 was more of the same, more hard heavy leather landing from Canelo while GGG was trying to hang in there, standing his ground for a moment then backing away from the onslaught throwing light punches in return.

GGG maintained his jabbing advantage (less so in round 3 than in round 2) but in each of these rounds Canelo clearly landed the more damaging impactful shots and it was impossible to not notice this, which is why all 3 judges agreed on who won these rounds. You causually and nonchalantly arguing that GGG won the rematch 8-4 or 9-3 just doesn't hold water as most did agree with the scoring of the first 6 rounds, which had Canelo ahead after 6 rounds. Sure, some people gave GGG the 5th, some gave Canelo the 1st, but most had Canelo ahead after 6 and had Canelo up 4 rounds to 2. This is because you can see clear differences between round 1 and rounds 2 and 3. When Canelo stepped up and landed heavy shots on GGG like he did in rounds 2 and 3, he would win the round. When he didn't, like in round 1, then GGG would win the round as it was a jabbing contest.

Most people who had GGG winning the rematch had it 7-5 or 8-4 at the widest. The fact that you're flirting around with 9-3 GGG shows that you are out of line with the consenus, even those that had GGG winning. For you to have any credibility you'd need to be clear on which rounds GGG won which you haven't thus far. Trying to find 9 rounds to give to GGG in the rematch is honestly mental. To score that many rounds to a guy getting hit with big punches that have the crowd gasping on impact, that's hard to do.

I just rewatched rounds 1-3. And you really don't understand what you're watching.

Round 1 was close but clear GGG round. Round 2, I agree this was Canelos round but it was far closer than whatever was indicated by commentators. GGG throwing weak jabs?? The jabs at 2:35, 0:46 would put you on the floor. There were several other jabs of varying power throughout this round. Not only this but GGG lands a clean powerful left hook at 0:26. Looks like it perked Canelos ears up. Other punches in this round I suspect people thought landed but did not (for Canelo) @1:41, 1:30, 1:01... People like to praise Canelo for not actually landing a clean punch. But yes round 2 for Canelo but purely because of that left hook, which arguably, GGG landed a more damaging one at 0:26.

Round 3 was close and because the action is quite fast paced I wouldn't be surprised if you gave it to Canelo. However, it's clear from your analysis that you can't tell what is a scoring punch. Both C and GGG were parrying and subtling defending shots and limited got through, however, GGG outlanded with better cleaner punches. Hard heavy leather landing from Canelo in round 3? Omg you really have a distorted view of reality, you just don't understand what a landed punch is tbh I'm not going to timestamp everything for you, watch it PROPERLY. However I'll give Canelo round 3 out of generosity.

    GGG - 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Giving rounds 5 and 6 to Canelo is just disgraceful tbh

Round 7 was close and could be argued for GGG.

Round 12 is the round all the casuals go on about as if it was close at all in clean effective punches landed. GGG outlanded Canelo here significantly and with more notable punches. Canelo looked spent af rounds 10-12. Baffles me that anyone can score round 12 to Canelo.

If you give Canelo round 12 for some mental illogical reason then it's still 8-4 GGG

    Rematch - Rounds won :
    GGG 1, 4, 8, 10, 12
    Canelo 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11

Rounds 8 and 9 were each very close and pretty much toss ups. Round 7 was close but Canelo edged it, we agree on that. I thought 11 and 12 were very close and hard to score as well. I'm in the minority with giving Round 11 to Canelo, all 3 judges gave that to GGG, however this is a round that I suggest you re-watch. Note that GGG started that round well but as the round went on Canelo really went to work and punished GGG with heavy clean shots and developed a rhythm down the stretch. Canelo landed the far more clean and impactful shots in round 11. For what it's worth, the punch stats of the 11th round both had each fighter landing 18 punches, however Canelo had a significant % landed advantage (40% to 24%) and landed 2 more power punches than GGG. This means that GGG missed a lot of shots this round and Canelo was much more efficient and accurate, and landed more power punches. I suggest you rewatch that round as this is a round that the majority have misinterpreted. Pay attention to the clean punches landed by Canelo as the round goes on.

Round 12 was a tough round to score. According to compubox, Canelo outlanded GGG in round 12 by 1 punch and according to compubox. Canelo landed 9 more power punches than GGG. However I did score this round to GGG as I thought he showcased good boxing skills and had some nice movement and combinations. So we agree on Round 12 going to GGG, probably for different reasons. But giving GGG (or Canelo) both rounds 11 and 12 is ridiculous. When you have 2 close hard to score rounds it's always a good idea to split the rounds, as I did with 8 and 9.

Obviously our main disagreement is with rounds 5 and 6. According to Compubox, GGG outlanded Canelo by 8 punches in round 5, and Canelo outlanded GGG by 7 punches in round 6. You may have a better argument that GGG won round 5 than he did round 6. In round 6, Compubox has Canelo landing 14 power punches to GGG's 6. Others have argued that GGG won round 5, but I haven't heard anyone argue won round 6.

We both agree GGG won round 4, but rounds 5 and 6 were pretty clear Canelo rounds for me, with round 6 being more clear than round 5. All 3 judges agree with me on this, and the vast majority had Canelo winning both rounds 5 and 6 or at least one of those rounds. I will take a look at rounds 5 and 6 again, but you giving GGG both rounds 5 and 6 to GGG is out of line with the consenus, so I would be interested in hearing your reasoning as to how / why GGG won those rounds.

@Quina74 I just re-watched Round 5 from the rematch. Yeah I don't have a problem with you giving that round to GGG. This was a lot closer and more arguable for GGG than I remembered. GGG did land a lot of jabs, many got through the guard. GGG also started the round well in the first 40 seconds. However the best punch of the round was by Canelo, that huge right hand over the top with 2:05 on the clock.

There were a lot of reasons to give the round to Canelo, he was the constant aggressor, GGG was breathing heavily, backing away most of the round. Certain sequences may have been hard to see for the judges, many of GGG's jabs were partly blocked by Canelo, but also some got through and landed and a few of them were solid. But the better clearly-seen no-doubt-about-it shots were landed by Canelo, and that's why the judges scored it for him.

For example, the sequence with 1:16 on the clock. GGG misses a left hook wildly as Canelo ducks it, then Canelo counters beautifully with a left hook of his own that hits GGG right on the top of the head.

Canelo slipped a lot of punches in this round, like the 4 punch combo started by GGG with 1:10 on the clock. The right hand may have nicked Canelo as he was pulling back but Canelo appeared to slip 4 punches in a row, which the judges would be naturally impressed by.

While GGG out jabbed Canelo in this round, Canelo landed more harder, impactful, clear no doubt about it jabs.

    For example :

1:06 on the clock - hard jab by Canelo throught the guard

    0:52 Hard jab by Canelo

0:51 Another Hard jab by Canelo

0:45 Two jabs were landed by GGG here, but both had little to nothing on them. These were weak jabs by GGG with no mustard on it, and cannot be compared to the 3 previous rock solid jabs landed by Canelo.

Studying the round closely, GGG does have an argument that he won this round, he was more active than Canelo and did land more punches overall, so I can see how compubox has GGG landing 8 more punches, however the harder cleaner eye-catching shots were landed by Canelo. Also GGG was beathing heavily, backing away, looking discouraged, he took more damage.

Watching this round live, it's clear that Canelo was imposing his will on GGG and getting the better of him. He landed the best single shot, and more harder head snapping jabs. Although GGG had some nice shots of his own, more overall jabs, even though many of them were blocked some of those that landed were weak with no mustard on it.

This is a debatable round, but a round that Canelo landed the more eye-catching impactful shots, was the constant aggressor, and started to really impose his will on GGG.

Other notable shots in Round 5 of the rematch :

1:43 on the clock - Hard jab landed by Canelo, GGG's jab was short

1:34 Another hard jab landed by Canelo, "Canelo, Canelo" chants from the crowd as they sense a momentum shift

1:26 Decent jab by GGG through the guard, may have been partly blocked

1:12 Nice clean straight right hand by GGG, through the guard. Maybe GGG's best shot of the round

0:41 Jab landed by Canelo through the guard, GGG tried to counter with a jab but it didn't have anything on it

0:33 Hard jab attempt by Canelo but this one missed the head, landed on GGG's shoulder

0:28 Canelo ducks a GGG right hook, fires back with a quick right hand body shot, hard to tell if it landed clean or was blocked, then a left hook may have hit GGG on the arm, but these counters from Canelo got a crowd reaction.

Lots of blocked jab attempts in the final 30 seconds of the round, most were thrown by GGG, with Canelo blocking and/or slipping then. GGG appeared to get in a decent body shot in the final 10 seconds through it's hard to see.

@Quina74 Just watched Round 6 of the rematch. You have no argument for GGG winning round 6. Round 6 was a clear Canelo round. Unlike Round 5, Canelo started Round 6 fast, setting the pace early, he kept his foot on the gas pedal throughout the round. Canelo started the round by landing clean jabs, straight rights, blocking most of GGG's return fire. At one point Canelo doubled up the jab, landing upstairs then to the body. Canelo was in complete control this round and I don't know how you could argue GGG won round 6.

Round 5 is much closer and more debatable than Round 6. imho you can reasonably argue GGG won round 5, but not round 6. Please rewatch and explain your reasoning.
