Golovkin clearly won. While Canelo's defense was top notch slickness for the first three rounds. Canelo was gassing by the fourth. Golovkin started to land that piston like jab, and was coming forward, while Canelo backed up, and fought back in spurts. It appeared that Golovkin was outlanding him in most rounds after Canelo started gassing. Canelo won maybe four rounds. You aren't supposed to be winning rounds when your head is snapping back more than the other guys, and you are the one backing up.
Alvarez arguably won the first 3 Golovkin arguably won the next 6 Alvarez won at least 2 of the last 3 Golovkin came forward more but Alvarez landed the bigger shots No ones satisfied with it but a draw is probably the fair result 118 - 110 is a ridiculous scorecard The main thing for me was that Boxing delivered tonight and the hype was justified so let's do it again.
Anything from draw to GGG by 2 rounds is OK with me. Canelo certainly didn't win. However it was closer than some of you are saying.
I thought GGG won, but not clearly.. So I don't really want to vote GGG. I had GGG winning 4-9 and 11. First round a draw, and canelo winning 2, 3, 10, 12.
Congratulations GGG you won 8 - 4 on my card. Sometime's life is simple unfair. This is one of those times.
Damn ! The more I read about this controversy the more I wanna see it for myself to see what happened!
Well the body language of both fighters should tell you who each of them thought really won. And the chorus of boos from the mostly Canelo fan crowd should tell you who they felt won.
