But its a different story when you don't even acknowledge it. I acknowledge that somehow someway Stiverne got to rematch his only decent win for a vacant world title. That was very stupid and it shouldn't have happened and I don't consider Stiverne a champion but it did. Officially it will come up in the statistics and Stiverne will be introduced as a world champion.

Interims are used rarely and given out for a reason. Those reasons are not equal but neither are the reasons for giving out a non lineal alphabet belt. A title is worth what status it represents in the HW division and that should be judged seperate. For example many who wouldn't value Wardleys belt would value Benavidez's.

Interims are not used commonly though this is changing because fighters don't want to fight with no hardware on the line. Part of why fans don't have strong opinions on interim titles is they aren't common and you can't have opinions on something thats rare. The IBF just made their first HW interim last year.

"Nobody" takes any belt seriously except "undisputed" because modern fans have got an obsession with their only being one champion. No one in the 2020s boxing world takes anything seriously except unifiers. They don't take regional titles seriously, they don't take quality wins seriously, they don't take win streaks seriously they take nothing seriously except top 5 matchups and some would probably limit that to the top 2 or 3.
