Who Remember Hard Hitting Russian Lightweight Prospect Sergey Artemiev?

    One of those fighters that just completely fell off the map. I think he easily passes the eye test and looks like a real talent to me, despite his relatively short career.

    He was my favorite up and coming prospect at the time. I still have all his USA Tues night fight appearances on VHS. That kid could fight!

    Any idea why his career ended so abruptly?

    Do you remember if he had noted amateur success before turning pro? He seemed very developed.

    Yes I believe he had in the vicinity of 200 amateur fights.
    His last fight he had a brain bleed that was bad. Took a long time to recover. He still has life long effects from it. Lives in NY I believe. I really liked that kid alot
