How many rounds would Joe the Jr. Lt.Heavy or even the Lt. Heavy Champ gone against the 185 pound Rock? I'm sort of old fashioned. Jr. Lt. Heavy a weight invented so Lennard would not have to fight real Lt. Heavies for a 5th belt so he could "match" Hearn's real accomplishments.
Well, your putting Calzaghe in there against a guy 10-17 pounds heavier than himself. And a fellow ATG fighter. So really, it's irrelevant.
I find it very, very difficult to put Marciano in the top 25 fighters of all-time in a pound-for-pound sense. Not what the question is asking dip****.
thing is name 5 other ATG super-middleweights there so many ATG heavyweights that being no.3 alltime heavy is way better then being no.1 alltime super-middle
Ring Magazine has Marciano #12 over the last 80 years back in 2002: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_Magazine's_list_of_the_80_Best_Fighters_of_the_Last_80_Years Bert Sugar has Marciano at #14 of all time.
Rock weighs in at @185 at 12 the day of the fight. or 8-9 hours before the fight. Cal weighs in at 175...36 hours before the fight. Ring weight at least 185+. Weight in the ring about the same. At Jr. Lt. Heavy 178- 180. Charles was fast, Kid Matthews was fast. Both Cal's fighting weight. We do fight real championship 15 rounds do we not. Rocky, fights out of the crouch, a great ducker and harder to hit than thought...ask any who fought him's after the fact...info there. Ok, I admit Rocky was back in the middle of the last Century...back before they had color TV even... Put Cal in vs a prime Charles, or a Prime Mongoose (36 year old)...is Cal as good as Charles or Archie. Would Cal be able to beat a Spinks or a Foster? Then to say he'd beat the Rock is rather dumb.
