Manhoef is a good shout along with the others fighters mentioned so far in this thread. Gomi is another one that has has to be up there. I just hope he will leave Sengoku and moves to Dream or the UFC so he can compete against better lightweights. Also guys like Aoki and Shoalin can make it exciting when on the ground.
Yeah, Urijah Faber. His fight next week with Pulver should be a good one. One fighter I forgot to mention is Nick Diaz.
Can't remember too many Gomi fights I thought were boring. A lot of that old Bushido lot actually. Hansen, Kawajiri and Azaredo used to excite the **** out of me too.
Another fighter who can be absolutely explosive (but only when he wants to ) is Randleman. He's a paradox because he also can be extremely ****ing boring. Same goes with Belfort.
Dude your out of control. You really need to watch ALOT more of Gomi`s fight. His not as exciting and dynamic to watch as Yamamoto but some of his KO`s have been sweet! His also got a very good standup.
He's either beating the **** out of someone or getting beaten up. Works for me, anyway. Kid Yam has my favourite KO ever I think.
Nah, the Miyata one, just for the "Right circle, watch the....OH FUUUUUUUUCK" aspect of it. Second fave is probably Azaredo over Kotani when he assaulted him in about 16 different ways in 11 seconds.
I was on the Gomi bandwagon for a while myself. He seemed dynamic for quite a while, but some holes in his game have been exposed. He seems to have some trouble with guys who are skilled at submissions with equal or more power, athleticism as himself. Watching him outright beat up Pulver at standup, then just pound Gracie with knees after he stuffed a takedown made him seem super well rounded and extremely dangerous/ world beater. Come to find out, there are quite a few guys out there that can compete with him and beat him.
Agree he's quite beatable, but that's part of what makes him exciting to me. Guys like GSP and Anderson, I love but at the moment, I don't feel as if they can lose (bar a Serra fluke).
