Well, there will be no excuse if Top Rank has Gvozdyk fight another meaningless opponent next time out. They co-promote Kovalev and Alvarez, and promote Beterbiev and Ramirez (who is moving up from 168 to 175). Also, Gvozdyk has a potential opponent in his WBC mandatory Browne.
We have seen worse mismatches before but that doesn't justify mismatches taking place. It's like me saying that Tyson Fury has fought worse opponents then Schwarz before so I can't criticize him.
An interesting fact: Ngumbu already had another fight in July. Fought for all 12 rounds. With that horrible "injury"...
