That second round was definitely Clottey's but the first one was very close and could have gone either way. Also check out how the announcers are all over Clottey's nuts!
I think we must note that Clottey was complaining about the hand, shaking it and just not sucking it up. It wasn't a great display of toughness. He let the judges & fans know he was hurt. Clottey also gassed too b/c it is hard for him to make weight.
clotteys proper tough but hes one paced he fights in first gear all night, but if he hits zab he could do what tszyu did to him
how did you know exactly when he injured his hand if it wasn't talked about till after the fight....:rofl
Clottey deserves the 'Oscar De La Hoya Best Performance By An Actor Inside A Boxing Ring' Award for that bull**** about his hand. He kept using the allegedly injured hand over and over and over and over and over and over and over. He used it instead of his supposedly good hand by a margin of 3-1 after it was "injured." It's simple, you don't continue to throw with an injured hand if it's an injury that affects your ability to throw with an injured hand. This isn't rocket science. Clottey was under severe pressure, got frustrated, and started crying, telling stories, and making excuses. He's 1000% full of ****.
LOL, you should watch more Margarito fights. He gets "handled effectively" in the early going quite often. See these contests: Lujan, Clottey, Cotto, Williams, ect, ect, ect.
Man smiles when he gets hit by massive shots. You think he is gonna ***** about a fractured hand during the fight?
Marg took off the gloves and tape and showed a bruised and bleeding hand for all to see right then and there. I don't think that there is any doubt that his hand really was hurt.
I agree Clottey was clearly winning at the half way point and that his injured hand may have cost him the fight, but as far as rematches go there are other considerations to look at... max boxing does quite a few Margarito training camps, and for this one they reported well in advance of the fight of significant injuries Tony suffered in sparring-(sprained wrist, twisted ankle). The ankle injury cost him nearly a week of training and still swollen come fight time. Clottey's a big durable WW with an active jab and good defense. It's no surprise he did well against Tony, but I don't see his stamina holding over 12 against Tony. I'd like to see him fight Collazo after Judah. There's just not enough buzz for a rematch with Margarito yet.
If they were both injured it's hard to who had it worse. Clottey's hand injury very well could have been more painful and severe, not to mention his left hand was his main weapon.
