That fight was exciting if you ask me, its like your waiting for the right hand, and when he throws it, its like christmas, then again, I thought Hopkins/Dawson was good. The Clinching was VERY minimal in my book, Good Fight. But, Wlad is a G in my book. Now lets see $uper Seth Mitchell kick the king out.
that right hand in the 5th was OMGWTF MASSIVE the 6th round was more of a push then a KD..... but thompson quit that round after he felt wlad's power in the 5th
Thompson initiated pretty much all the clinching in the fight (and he's damned good at it). I was surprised by the lack of jabs from Wlad and the mugging combination punching. He had a really different approach this time out.
yeah... wlad really didn't do his usual jab jab grab this fight... which could be a reason why thompson did alright in the earlier rounds
The only thing I think Wlad needs to work on is when he gets someone hurt on the ropes, he has issues with judging the distance to get a good straight right or left hook on clean
even as a fan, it feels like forever before the carnage erupts. too patient (any carrying the guy doesn't give me the feeling like it's competitive) so yeah, boring, but always a pleasing ending no one stops wlad during the next couple of years
It was a good fight, where Wlad once again showed great ring generalship.. His combos were fast, powerful and accurate.. Good performance by Wlad.. He is really a master of the sweet science.
I love waiting around for that right hand its great all those rounds of his new career with MJ, Ive enjoyed all that waiting thats excitment
If he fought even someone as good as Prime David Tua like he fought Tony Thompson in that first round he would have gotten ko 1
