I was wondering what people would prefer in the following scenario: One of your favourite boxers A is fighting an opponent B. The fight goes to the scorecards and the common consensus is that B was clearly the winner of the fight and even you have to agree with that. Now which of the two options would you prefer when the scorecards are revealed? 1. A wins 2. B wins
eg. Kessler vs Calzaghe. B wins. I'm a big Calzaghe fan (there, I've said it! I feel better now!!) and want him to beat Kessler. But if MK clearly wins I'd be really embarrased as a Brit if the decision goes to Joe. It would do his rep more harm than a legitimate loss imo.
It's best for teh sport if there are no robberies though I personally think they need to revamp the scoring to include when fighters are chasing the other fighter and they continuously run from them. Aggression should count for something.
I was hoping that they were going to give a decision to Oscar over Hopkins.......so I pick Boxer A. :good
But what if a loss to "A" ruins a super-mega fight with Bernard Hopkins?????? Then you have to want "A" to win right?
It depends. If B wins 8 rounds or more, then most of fighter's A fans will want fighter B to win the decsion. Bad decisons hurt the sport of boxing. However, if the fight is close with B edging it say 7 rounds to 5, I'd betcha the majority of fighter A's fans will claim he won the fight.
Yea thats what happens most of the time especially in hometowns fights. If A loses clearly his fans will claim that he won anyway so...
