Marquez and Bradley made the most sense. Now both are officially retired.

If by some miracle Canelo defeats GGG then we're 100% guaranteed there will be a rematch with Cotto (but only after he rematches GGG)

Cotto's next fight (and last fight should GGG hammer Canelo as expected) will be against Kell Brook in MSG at 154lbs. Commercially viable fight in NYC that would sell out.

Cotto blew that fight being the Diva that he is.
Man hasn't had a notable win in some time, and he thinks he's the A side who can call the shots. LOL!

If Marquez had any feeling Cotto truly wanted the fight, my feeling is that Marquez would not have retired.
The Cotto fight was the last fight Marquez wanted to give the fans as his adios fight, but Marquez wasn't about to let Cotto dictate terms.

Cotto has zero chance at beating any of the top middleweights, so he blew it in not making it known the Marqeuz fight was what he wanted.

Could have been marketed as two still capable legends riding off into the sunset.
    Mexico vs Puerto Rico!

    The Diva blew it!

If all goes well its probably going to be Lemieux or the winner of Canelo GGG... I smell Lemiux cause I know they've seen something there and he also had an injury recently if I'm not mistaken and will probably be at a catch weight.. I personally respect Cotto aside from him being a Diva just like many other boxers nowadays and think he should call it a day already.. hes got a bunch of kids and a nice family I would like for him to retire with a win and without getting hurt or looking stupid in a fight.. At this stage I don't give him a chance to beat the likes of Canelo or GGG. If anything I think Khan would be a good option since thats a very winnable fight for him but knowing Cotto he wont go for Khan

    Austin Trout or David Lemiuex

Trout because it's an attempt to avenge a loss (I
think Trout would win again IMO) but there is
    that angle.

David because it would sell to HBO? and David has
a decent fan base and would be the type of fighter
that will come to him for an entertaining fight.

I agree with several of the shout outs here from Amir Khan to Liam Smith to James Kirkland to Austin Trout II. Always a chance of a K9 Bundrage or Sam Eggington as well. I do not see him facing any of Lemieux, GGG/Canelo winner, Margarito III, Brook, or Chavez Jr. Factoring in his risk/reward with legacy in mind, I think/hope he should pursue a rematch with Trout. Trout is still a legit guy to fight to bow out on and the rematch angle is real. If Cotto wins, he will have avenged 2 of his 5 losses.
