On skill Guzman, on competition Calderon.

Pretty close though in terms of competition, i could see an arguement either way.

IMO Soto and Barrios aren't THAT impressive as opponents.

I would say they are, considering how underrated both were/are and how easily Guzman beat them.

Ivan Calderon.. There's only so much talent in the lower weights.. He's ranked higher P4P because he has proved he's the only one worth mentioning around his weight, besides Donaire.. Yes Solis, Naito, and others are good but do anybody ever really talk about them? Calderon is also one of the most skilled fighters in boxing today..

He lost rounds agaisnt both, and was tagged clean against both. He ate FAR too many shots for my liking against Soto, who although a good fighter, isn't great. In terms of compeition, Calderon has made something like 14 defences of his title. He has ruled the division for a long time, something that IMO Guz has never really done.

Barrios and Soto are good fighters yes, but his resume lacks the overall depth that Calderon's has. Although his biggest wins are probably better, they are still not great enough IMO to surpass Calderon's overall.

I slightly give Calderon the edge. 1 decent win from Guzman and He'd take it easily. Honestly both guys are in the same boat. Tons of boxing skills but haven't faced much opposition. I don't care much for ranking fighters on a H2H basis...I care more about accomplishment and resume.

Honestly its a toss up, I mean Guzman beat Barrios and Soto, but how do we scale Calderon's opponents up in weight to compare them to guys Guzman has faced? Idk its odd. If you wanna say Guzman than I don't care lol.

What is your stance on resume for both guys? How do you see Guzman being superior in that regard?
