Even without either win Kovalev > GGG. And based on them each winning the fight you mentioned? Not even close man.
Kovalev by a mile. He has one of the best resumes in the business and with Ward on it, he will be untouchable.
No fighter in that weight class is even close to Ward. Maybe go up to 168, beat DeGale, beat some other 168 lb fighters. That's after unifying at 60 ofc. Then we'll have a discussion. Middleweight is shallow.
Reality Check if Kovalev has Pascal, Hopkins and Ward on his resume, that's approaching ATG Light Heavyweight Status. GGG beating Canelo that will be his first name guy and he's not even close to those 3.
I'd still have Gonzalez ahead. Gonzalez beating Inoue, Estrada, or Cuadras would still put him at #1 regardless of Kovalev beating Stevenson and Beterbiev. Also, nonsense that Golovkin is p4p #1 for beating Canelo. Golovkin needs to move up a division if he wants to get anywhere close to p4p #1. Middleweight is just not talented enough. Either move up or rely on some of the up-and-comers to pull off something great. Derevyanchenko, Murata, etc.
