Mixing in heavyweights is a bit unfair as Lewis and Holyfield would rate higher on a pure heavyweight ATG list.

As for overall ATG status - Sugar Ray Leonard has established himself as the best of his generation and one of the greatest of all time - followed closely by Roberto Duran.

Leonard easily. And Duran never knocked out a great and he is rated high. Talk about overrated Duran and underrated Ray.

I don't like Leonard... However, I recognize his place as an ATG.

Choosing between Lewis and Mayweather was difficult for 7th and 8th, as was choosing between Chavez and Holyfield for 5th and 6th, but the rest was pretty clear-cut as I see it, although I think I rank Roy Jones a bit higher than most.

I think you could argue any order 1-3 for Jones, Chavez and Holyfield. I rank them very closely. What do others think on this?

I'd probably have Lewis at or near the top 50 considering he's to me about 3-4 ATG heavyweight, and I'd likely have Holyfield a little higher too, but other than that, this is a pretty good list.

Duran and Leonard are interchangeable. I picked Leonard with Duran not far behind.

For what it's worth, here is the Internation Boxing Research Organizations list of P4P fighters as of 2006. I would think based on this that Duran should rate higher than Leonard, since they review their records inside and out backwards and forwards before each member gets to vote. But that's just my opinion. I also think Duran going 71-1 prior to the Leonard fight cemented his legacy at lightweight. To me the biggest difference between the two, which is admittedly small, is that Leonard on had 40 fights in total, while Duran had over 100. And although SRL beat both Hearns and Hagler, he was a welterweight, so while beating another ATG welterweight, and a ATG middleweight was extremely impressive, I don't think it ranks up there with Duran beating him, (the 2nd greatest Welterweight of all time, in his prime) and Duran, a lightweight almost beating Hagler, who is ranked 6th ATG middleweight. But personally I think Duran's greatest win was against Barkley, who at 6' 1" and with two wins over Hearns, who destroyed Duran, is to me his greatest victory. Posters marvel about the size difference between Manny and Margo, but this isn't even close to the size difference between Duran and Barkley.

id personally rank holyfield higher than both chavez and jones jr, purely because he unified the cruiserweight division and then became one of the best heavyweight champions of the 90's, fighting everyone who mattered at the time. jones jr is without a shadow of doubt the most skilful of the 3 but i dont think thats enough to put him ahead, as he spent most of his career fighting part-time police men, etc... Had career defining fights in James Toney, Bernard Hopkins and John Ruiz, mixed with an array of stunning knockouts and spectacles in the ring, which is why I put him in the list of 10. As for Chavez I have only seen a couple of his fights, mainly his biggest ones, but apart from that I dont know much about his career. I was actually contemplating whether to put Whittaker in there instead of Morales. Would that have been better dya think? :think

For what it's worth, I'd definitely have put Whitaker on the list. Of the guys you have, I rate only Duran and Leonard above him.
