This is something every boxing fan with half a brain knew a long time ago

It's why fanboys of other fighters hate the guy with such passion

    He's that damn good

    :rofl

No, it doesn't mean that in the least. Uchiyama came into the conversation because you made the argument that you had to beat an elite fighter within your division to be P4P - and WHO exactly has Uchiyama beaten recently that's elite?

Nobody. Miura was 4 years ago. :deal

Do you think Lemieux would have fought Golovkin if it wasn't for the 2 million dollar purse they offered him? K2's job as a promoter is to invest in their fighter. I applaud K2 for finally being able to secure GGG a fight with another elite fighter in his division. Oct 17th will give us a better indication on how good Golovkin truly is.

BTW, Murray and Geale are not elite middleweights. If we can't agree on that, then we probably won't agree on anything.

Whether that was four years ago or last week is irrelevant to me. Uchiyama still proved his worth by beating an elite fighter so my point still stands. He has beaten good competition since and is still undefeated.

Too bad it's relevant to people who matter in the boxing world. Since you think Uchiyama is so much better as P4P material than Golovkin, let's take a look.

-Golovkin is ranked higher here than Rigo, Ward and Wlad despite having a weaker resume. Why? What have you done lately, that's why. No Uchiyama on their list.

-Golovkin is ranked higher here than Rigo and Ward (who's not on their list) despite having a weaker resume. Why? What have you done lately, that's why. Oh look, Uchiyama is at #10 i.e. also behind Golovkin.

-Golovkin is ranked higher here than Rigo and Ward despite having a weaker resume. Why? What have you done lately, that's why. Mind you, they ranked Fury ahead of Uchiyama. Oops.

-TBRB hasn't updated their P4P list since May, no Uchiyama there.
    http://www.tbrb.org/p4p/

-Fightnews is asking, who's the new P4P king? So that's for the public to decide... only thing is, there's 12 guys on there and no Uchiyama.

48 voters, Loma and Uchiyama are the only ones without a vote.

Most of y'all really don't know **** about boxing, including whoever runs The Ring, ESPN boxing and Fightnews. They have lost all of their credibility a very long time ago. Golovkin is a special talent but he has not earned the right to be ranked in the pound for pound list, let alone the top five. Uchiyama victories over Miura, Vasquez and Solis should be enough to have him ranked ahead of Golovkin. He's beaten better fighters than him and he's still an undefeated champion. I'm not going to award someone as a top p4p fighter for beating B-/C+ level fighters.

    Tell 'Em, Dump On 'Em.

Tell Dougie, Fat Dan and the idiots at Fightnews they're spamming the world with their rankings.

In reality though, Vasquez is not a great win by any means and Jorge was years past his best as everyone knew when Gamboa & Uchiyama fought him.

Cotto, Quillin & Lemieux are the elites at middleweight. The winner of Lee-Saunders will be too.

Those names that I listed were still better than most of Golovkin's wins.

I see we're back to square one. Did you forget my point about K2 needing to invest more $ into Golovkin's career? Why do you think Lee fought Quillin instead of Golovkin? $

Martinez choose to fight Cotto over Golovkin because of the money. These are professional prizefighters at the end of the day. Martinez has never ducked a fighter in his professional career.
