Who should Bertos first defense be against????

I don't think any champion should be allowed an easy defence first up at all.

If Collazo is the mando, then fair enough, but I think Shane would be a much tougher examination for Berto - Collazo is pretty handy though and is a slick operator.

I haven't seen a great deal of Berto, perhaps two or three fights, but have been impressed when I saw him in action against Trabant.

Collazo is a tough proposition, as a slick counter-punching southpaw with decent power, good chin and a fair bit of bottle, whilst Berto has fast hands and good movement, though his chin is unproven.

This is a 50-50 encounter for me, and I will therefore sit on the fence.

 

Issac hlatshwayo would be a good first defense, i think he hold the wba regular title as well. After that move on to the judah, collazo and quintana types.

I think Collazo would be elevated to the #1 contender status when the new rankings come sometime this week.

My personal choice would be Shane Mosley or Carlos Quintana ... either fighter would be tough and really would show what Berto is made of --

OK, i will show my ignorance but can someone PLEASE explain to me these rankings? Where are guys like Marg, Mosley, Quintana, Cotto, Clottey, Judah, etc? I mean this is for 147 rankings right? Obviously, there is a reason why these guys aren't listed and can someone please explain it to me?

 

Quintana is a good fighter, but he will probably want a trilogy with Williams - he won the first fight on merit and was blown away in the second fight.

Collazo is probably more famous for the fights that he has lost, and who knows, maybe we saw the best of him in the Hatton fight??

But I still see a decent operator who has potential in Luis.....

As for dudes like Mosley & Quintana coming off of defeat's... they should make
the new ranking's. (But Q prob not in them cause he was a reconized Champ)

 

The alphabets don't rank each other's champions - there will probably be a damn good rea$on for it a$ well.
