I'd say Collazo also, BTW is Collazo still a Don King fighter?

Its gonna be Collazo...it is an winnable fight...and it is a fighter who has a known enough name to help him get a bigger payday afterwards.

A fight with Collazo first should be good, then he could go for Paul Williams depending how good he performs there.

Isn't Baldomir a JrMW now? Either way, he's a walking punching bag for Berto. He's a slight name, nothing more. Berto needs stiff challenges, not a "gimme" just for name value.

yeah collazo would be a good first defence.

i'd like to see them go for a unification fight fairly fast with berto.

cos he has the chance to make a lot of money with the likes of cotto around.

berto will become cotto's main rival within the next 12 months. :deal

i dunno... if im a matchmaker for berto ... truthfully not even worried about it..

i look at it like.. if berto wins this fight

he beat a guy whos most notable fight was losing against mayweather

and was a past belt holder

so it looks good and its a step up in challenge..

im going in with the mentality that im trying to set my boxer up financially...

    after he beats baldomir

you put him in there with another top 15-10 guy

maybe a cintron or something like that who also has a notable name but who berto should have an easy time defeating...

this is all to build his name to be marketable in the future as well as slowly develop his skills

being that hes 24 he has 6-8 years to fight the bigger names...so no reason to toss him to the beasts to early... id put him against the cotto's pw's margarito's in 2-3 years... unless he stomps all over the competition we throw up at him in which case 1-2 years

if your fighter loses to early to a fighter of medium talentyour setting him back atleast 1-2 years id like to assume... so no sense in throwing him to the top 6 quiet yet... gotta give him some time to mature

    nonsense.

he's mid 20's and primed baby. :yep

throw him in and let's see what he's made of.

lots of money to be made.

berto has the talent and style to be rushed in my opinion. :bbb

    hahaha your crazy... hes 24....

so lets say you toss him in against pw for example..

pw wins and it furtheres his name into the welterweight elite

berto on the other hand is set back 2-3 years because if he cant beat paul williams he definitely isnt going to beat margarito and he defintely isnt going to beat cotto...

there fore he has to start from scratch..

i feel like building a boxer is like building a deck of cards ... gotta do it slowly and one at a time... if you try to go to fast the whole deck will fall and you have to start from scratch

Yeah, i'm guilty of ignorance. I've fairly new to the sport. I love it now but don't know all i need to know. I will learn it in due time but i'm not forcing myself. This isn't work to me, i enjoy it. It will come. I just hate all these rankings though. I wish they had one clear ranking for every division. Too much politics.
