I agree that Calzaghe has a different style than Pavlik, and I don't suppose B-HOP can look as good as he did against Pavlik when he faces Calzaghe again. Calzaghe has far more lateral movement and is faster. Still, I'd expect Hopkins to give a better performance. He changed his attitude, he doesn't want to clinch, but fight aggressively and throw more punches. He said that, and he even said that he wants to go for the KO from now on. I believe it. His legs seemed fine for a full 12 rds against Pavlik, there are no stamina problems, he is indeed rejuvenated and that has nothing to do with Pavlik not being up to the task. After all Pavlik was supposed to win this fight with pressure, activity and throwing punches in bunches - the same thing Calzaghe does - and he got outworked and outhustled by old man Hopkins. So I think while Hopkins could not be as dominant against Calzaghe as he was against Pavlik, he could do better than in their first encounter. And, as we all know, that first encounter was 'a very close fight that could've gone either way' - to put it nice...
Like Dawson, but why not an all-England battle against Carl Froch? Glenn Johnson would also be deserving candidate.
dawson v calzaghe and pac v hatton double main event summer 2009 at wembley arena in front of 100,000. that would be unbelievable and with both brits not tied down with promoters it would be possible however unlikely.
Dawson. That's been his only real challenge since he defeated Hopkins. (Or, if Evander or Toney can pick up a belt at HW......?):yep
