Bad Chad Dawson, but it will never happen. Joe would be crazy to get in the ring with a young lion like dawson at this stage in his career.

Calzaghe should just retire, if he fights Dawson and wins people will just dismiss it the same way the Lacy fight was, and complain how he doesnt fight a legend. If he fights a legend and wins again, people will just cry about him not fighting a young no1 contender, he cant win, so just retire.

Dawson: Heir apparent at LHW....with his wins over Johnson, Tarver and Adamek he has certainly earned his way. Victory would be a huge boost to Joes record.

Hopkins does not deserve a rematch with ATG Joe Calzaghe...and I don't think it would do that much for Joes resume given that he already beat him fairly convincingly.

I'd like to see a Froch bout purely from a selfish point of view (two Brits going at it in a British mega fight) but it would do **** all for Joes record.

Calzaghe should be thinking about legacy at this stage in his career. Right now, only a buffoon would believe his legacy is the equal of his contemporary, Bernard Hopkins. He will not be remembered as an equal as things stand, he will not have a similar standing in history. It is foolish to argue against this point. Time to grasp reality methinks.

If he wishes to rectify this state of affairs, he should take a fight with the most highly ranked and regarded fighter he can - and that's p4p#3 and elite ATG B-Hop. Even if some of his dewy-eyed followers regard his win as convincing, many people do not. Why not convince everyone with a better, more comprehensive, more masterful victory?? I think we all know the answer.

dawson is fighting tarver, so he is actually out of the picture..

i voted kessler, would like to see him get even..

had dawson not been busy, i would probably have chosen him

Dont think he fear Dawson! Every time Joe faced a young lion (Kessler, Lacy) he beat them, he will outsmart any young fighter even at this stage! only experience can beat Joe!

I think we all know, that nobody can beat Hopkins in a more comprehensive and masterful way.. i certainly cant think of anyone who could! a rematch would probably just be a deja-vu of the first one.. these two guys simply cant look good against each other!

After the Pavlik performance, I do not think we would hear many of those cries.

However, Calzaghe wouldn't beat him more convincingly anyway, it would be a spectacular win for Hopkins.

To be honest, I don't hold out any hope for that fight though. I don't care what his fans say, watch him at the end of the Hopkins fight, he is ****ing stiff with terror that he has lost, the relief when he hears the erroneous verdict is gargantuan. He can hide behind his "he's an ******* and my daddy thinks rematches are evil" excuses for all eternity, but there's just no way he fancies another torrid evening looking amateurish trying to land a clean punch on the Hop.

Thus, I'd like him to fight Dawson instead. I think Calzaghe would beat him.

Because people wouldn't give him that much more credit for it considering he already did it?

I think Dawson would add more at this stage. It's as simple as that.

There does not seem to be a public outcry for the Hopkins fight either, no one screamed robbery and while I don't think the fight was as bad as many people thought, I hardly hear any calls for a rematch even in light of Hopkins fine win over Pavlik.

The majority including myself want a fight over the young, unbeaten, heir apparent at LHW Chad Dawson. That would be a very good win indeed and I think it's a fight Joe could very well lose.

I daresay it would be a more enjoyable fight as well.

Yep. I remember hearing the Hopkins humpers claiming 'wait till you see this, he's worked Jermain out after a slow start the 1st time and now he's going to get him!'

We were treated to more of the same. I'd be surprised if the same was true of a Calzaghe rematch.

Few want to see it anyway and public demand is a big factor in making matches in boxing whether you like it or not.

Dawson does more for Calzaghes record, simply because Joe already beat Hopkins and convincingly in the eyes of most. That is how that will be remembered.

At the end of the day,
    Dawson ain't proven,
Hell his fighting a rematch with tarver who looked like garbage in his last 2 fights and has been looking worse and worse,
And had a gift against johnson.
So calzaghe won't pick dawson for them reasons,
His just an over rated american who if he does meet calzaghe will get stopped.
    Simple as.

Your stupid, Fighting a fight the first time in another country and having a fairly close match any fighter would be nervous about which way the result would go.
Hell, If hopkins didn't start acting like a lil ***** saying his been low blowed calzaghe would of stopped him easy,
    Nobody will beat calzaghe,
    Simple as.:hi:
