who should calzaghe spar to prepare for old man river?

  1. Joe does not lose a match against a guy he's studied and chased most of his career. A guy who constantly ran from him too.

Real fans of the science know Joe wins. I shall publically remind many of you of this come April 13th.

You consider yourself a "real fan of the science" yet refer to Hopkins as a chump?

hopkins is boring, deal with it.

  5. You only need to look at Joe in the ring to know; it's a given. That's art.

Joe also never lost against his divisions best. Twice.

Theres no point me talking to someone who is not open to reason. You carry on with your laughable, one sided, back slapping. You're boring.

    1) You assume wrong, ever since I first saw you post here, you seem to be miserable or resentful

    2) I joined for the same thing, but theres nothing wrong with people supporting their fighter, if you dont like it, dont reply to their posts

I think I just make people feel uncomfortable because I can make my point eloquently & don't feel the need to follow the general consensus.

I have no problem with people supporting their fighters I just loath the fact it manifests itself into nationalistic, sychophantic nonsense. I am a boxing fan & wont support fighters with the same passport as me by default.

Howard Eastman is a tricky fighter with a similar style to the late Hopkins. He's slower than he was a few years ago but as a sparring partner he would be good stylistically. But the thing is it's hard to find good sparring partners for awkward fighters and both Hopkins and Calzaghe have rare styles...

So the best thing is to do the homework on the tapes and get in tip-top shape. At the age of 35+ and 40+ fights, they wouldn't find anything new at all at fight night. So all Hopkins has to do is to spar with quick southpaws and Calzaghe to spar with holders and inside fighters. Hopkins should train with John David Jackson.

I didnt see anyone saying you had to support joe because you hold the same passport, and I agree with you, Im not a fan of Carl Froch for example. I have no problem with you making your point any which way you please, I was probably being an arse to be honest, Ive been doing DIY most of the day so Im not in the best of moods anyway.

For the arguement of who wins, Im sticking with JC, although I wouldnt be surprised if BHOP wins, but JC, in my opinion, has the tools to negate Nard's, it wont be a beat down, but JC will prevail. :good

There is no one who can emulate B-Hopkins non-partially ( or totally) but Calzaghe and Warren should make best use of their hard-earned sterling pounds to get some 6 feet plus american ( and conventional) sparring partners with a lot of experience in the USA - Bika got some in the Contender but this should require a Bernard Hopkins' opponent of the past such as Robert Allen, Antwun Echols or (at worst) Howard Eastman... It doesn't matter that they are big but that they are crafty, fighting in America.

Shall we come to a compromise & say we were both being an arse?

DIY on a saturday afternoon, I dont envy you I must say.

Anyway, at least the fights been signed & I cant wait for another spectacle regardless of who wins. I just feel Hopkins' ringcraft & the ability to make fighters pay for their mistakes will just get him the win.

Maybe Joe could recruit at the local nursing home..I bet he could find a few old geezers that have more ability than Popkins....Will Popkins have a rocking chair instead of a stool in his corner??
