Looks like he needs 2 more defenses to own his belt. Who should CEJ defend against next. TBH Ryder is my fav, I'd love CEJ to whip him real good
IMHO none of the above. Unless he's going to do it real quick time, a guy who is clearly a world class fighter should be targeting world class, not wasting his time with domestic also rans.
I'm not his manager, but the options don't look that great, most of the big names are doing something else. He might as well have a few warm ups. He's still a young bloke, although he might be close to out growing the division it seems. I am interested to know what they do next, and I am guessing it will be @ British level, but you can never tell with the Eubanks.
Oh you can tell British level fight that he can look good in. Feel sorry for the people who support these two, easily swayed and deluded.
If he can't get a world level fighter, then he should, at the very least, fight a Euro level fighter. I thought the Blackwell fight would have knocked some sense into the Eubank's about the dangers of mis-matches. Evidently, after choosing to fight Doran, it hasn't. Fighting over matched opponents with styles tailor made for Chris (Chudinov, Blackwell, Spike, Doran and the American lad) do nothing for Eubank's development, either.
Blackwell was asking to be punished to be fair. Doran was a waste of time, he now needs to start taking on pure boxers. Because from the BJS, he didn't know what to do when in there with a slickster.
Many said Chudinov was even better than BJS at the time and that CEJ should go back to British level and develop. Then Spike was meant to be a bad stylistic match up because he had a good chin and huge power. By the time he got to Blackwell some of CEJ's haters started to quieten down, but 1 year earlier Blackwell would have wrecked him according to the average joe on this forum.
