Peter or Thompson are good calls.

Valuev will never fight Haye, or anyone else who has a modicum of boxing ability and power.

Vitali Klitschko would do to Haye what he did not Danny Williams, absolutely destroy him. Williams had a better chin, so he took more punishment before being stopped.

Wlad is the only Klitschko that Haye should be fighting.

Well the obvious answer is Chris Arreola.

But I think Haye's people (knowing that they should be able to secure a fight with one of the K bros soon), will look for a combination of a recognised name who poses a pretty small threat.

I know Rahman retired, but someone like him, Ruiz or Toney would be who I'd expect.

I hope he fights a live somebody and looks impressive beating them. Perhaps a Johnson or someone better known. My guess is that he lures Holyfield into the ring......

He should take on Thompson...the least chance to get KOed for Haye...

I agree, but DH needs to fight someone with some risk.

Some posters are throwing out names like Ruiz & JT :huh What will that prove if DH wins? That Haye is good enough to beat past it fighters... and Toney never was that much at HW anyway. DH should fight an opponent that brings medium risk & reward. Arreola, many others can fill that role. Else Haye is wasting everybodies time except his huggers.

Remember the hype that Peter generated a few years back... I think Haye has exceeded that with less accomplishments at HW. Except for some Brits, his appeal is largely from the anti K bros faction that will attach themselves to any fighter that looks like they have a chance vs either borther. Even most neutral observers think DH only has chance vs Wlad and not late 30s Vitali. A younger Vitali would abuse Haye - maybe even this version.

Perhaps, but he was initially muted for a showdown with Haye. However, he may need to take a risk to force himself back in to title contention.

If Lewis couldn't KO Vitali, Haye will not.

I agree...but I don't think it's how Haye's people are going to play it. He is going to get a shot at one of the Klits if he doesn't lose, so I doubt they'd take big risk fight.

I'm not saying it's right it's just what I expect!! And...if Haye is going to take a high risk fight, he'll want as big a pay day as possible so Johnson still doesn't fit he bill!!!

Valuev or Toney would be the best options IMO.

I'd LOVE to see Toney vs. Haye.

I dont care for Haye but I would favor him against James Toney at this stage. Toney hasn't been that active recently and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he 40 now? His weight ballooning up and down numerous times will have surely taken its toll by now for him to be a serious contender. He wasn't the same in the 2nd peter fight.

True that... unfortunately. Except for DH lovers, it seems even his mgt doesn't have that much confidence in DH.
Hell, I think Haye is better than that :yep I've even posted that he has a shot at Wlad - most likely if he catches him early like Sanders v Wlad.

But his handlers know him best. Except to his huggers did Haye really look that good vs past it Monte? Not to me.

As for JT... a younger version of Toney v Haye would be interesting. Not the 40ish JT. I think DH would win, maybe easily. I also thought Peter would stop JT in their 2nd fight, but that was a younger JT.
