Should David Haye recover from his injury, many people think he will, should he get straight back in and fight a top 5 ranked fighter ,and force his way in or is there a fighter he should box that should he win makes it impossible for WK to not fight him, ?

    Nobody.

Povetkin and Pulev are the clear next tier after Wladimir.

The 2 best options are Pulev and Jennings (and in that order). Pulev's become a mandatory but seems reluctant to fight Wlad. If Haye promises a payday roughly as big as Wlad is, Pulev may fight him instead. He may feel that he has a better chance against Haye because he has a height advantage and can dictate the fight with his jab.

I don't share their opinion, but many (most?) seem to think Jennings is America's best heavyweight at the moment. If he beats Jennings all American fighters will, theoretically, be pushed behind him in the queue.

There are other options but they're either unrealistic or less likely to propel him to the front. Wilder won't fight Haye at the moment. Perez won't either after his last performance. Andy Ruiz is too green for such a step up. Stiverne, Solis, Thompson, and others have fights schedueled.

Haye should fight Wilder next, but Wilder will not come near him, esp. after beating the Hell out of Wilder in sparring...............

He ducked Charr, so that's the obvious first.
Then he ducked Fury, so that's the obvious second.

He should finish where he left off and make the fight with Fury. A win there could possibly earn him a shot at the winner of Stiverne-Arreola II for the WBC title.

    :rofl:rofl

Pulev. He's not the greatest puncher which might sway Haye to fight him but he takes hell of lot more then he can dish out so it would be a good little scrap

One of the actual #1 contenders would be a good option, or one of the #2's and wait in line.
Then he actually has to show up (wich is about a 50/50 chance), and win too.

All in all it looks like a lot of hard work, wich I don't expect to see from Haye.

Haye is the most frustrating boxer out there. All that talent, little or no hunger though. While he most likely would have never become 'the man' at heavyweight, he could have become the peoples champ. A heavyweight with knock out power like himself is potential box office and if he was knocking out opponent after opponent in the top 10 the fans would have loved him and he still could have went down in history as a great fighter even without beating Wlad. If he was active it would be him fighting Stiverne and I bet we'd all be cheering for him if he was consistently fighting top 10 guys and knocking them out. Then he could have rematched Wlad and generated some excitement if nothing else.

Instead he's become a fraud and a joke to the sport. Terrible shame, a waste of talent and real knock out power. Tyson was right when he said Haye could have brought real excitement to the heavyweight division, Haye chose otherwise.
