Try to fight Calzaghe but if that doesn't work move down to 168 and call out Kessler, Bute, taylor and everyone else in that divison.
Dawson has a two-fight contract deal with HBO, who do you think HBO wants Dawson fighting next? And Calzaghe says he wants ONE more match before he retires. Calzaghe vs Dawson from what I see has a 80% chance of happening. Other possible matches; Dawson vs Hopkins, Dawson vs Johnson II, or Dawson vs Diaconu.
I want to see Dawson vs Diaconu on HBO, that fight would get Chad recognition that he needs and will prove hes the best light heavy. Calling out Calzaghe wouldn't do much at this point, because Joe would never fight him even if the money was right because he wouldn't beat Dawson and he wants to retire unbeaten. I think Joe will fight Froch in the UK then retire.
Yeah but HBO probably wants Dawson fighting either Hopkins or Calzaghe. It would be great if a Dawson vs Diaconu match would happen, but Hopkins wanting to feel relevant in the LHW division would but in and fight Dawson instead.
I see what you mean and i want to see Dawson against either Calzaghe or Hopkins as well, but the only problem is that neither wants to fight him. Hopkins claim is that ''he doesn't want to ruin another young star'' ( which is BS) and Joe has stated that he feels Dawson is not a star yet and he was ''lucky to get past Johnson''. In order for Dawson to get big fights, he either have to unify or pull some superstars up from super middleweight. The Kessler fight is a fight that i would also want to see.
The only fights for him are Calzaghe and Hopkins. As they don't seem to want to fight him, all he can do is look to unify the titles and wait for a credible opponent to come along. Probably a year or so down the line it could well be Taylor or Kessler. I don't think he would risk another fight with Johnson as he was very lucky the first time.
Dawson has stated that him moving up to cruiser weight is not even an option, so the only way that fight could be made is if they fight at a catch weight. Also, Dawson already beat Adamek( easily actually) so i don't really see how a rematch would be any different especially since Dawson is even more seasoned now with better defense and focus. I think you're getting him confused with Steve Cunningham.
Wow i didn't know you posted over here..lol I was getting a bit tired of boxing scene. I like the forum and all, but they talk about the same threads every single day and its like the posters are getting worse and worse. I haven't been there in about a week. I bet the current NSB forum already has about 15 threads on Margarito right now.
