A lot of the championship fighters are all tied up. Povetkin is fighting Estrada than Wlad this year, so no chance of a rematch with Povetkin. Wlad wants to fight the winner of the Arreola/McCline match, Valuev is Chagev's mandatory and that's all tangled up. So what opponent is available for Chambers, and who should he consider fighting? (ie B or C level fighter)

I would like to see a rematch with Povetkin, but Povetkin would rather fight Wlad first.

Byrd is no longer fighting as a heavyweight, he's a cruiserweight now. My instincts say Chambers will fight some B or C level fighter just to keep himself busy, then wait till the other championships matches unfold.

If Wlad beats Povetkin, I think Chambers should stay from Wlad despite being ranked #3 by the IBF.

He should just try and be active and not be too picky with his opponents. That's the key to making it if you aren't a big personality; ask Gomez, who didn't have any high-profile fights but kept beating semi-decent opposition for years. A Dominick Guinn or a Fabuluous Fabio would be for the best.

If he has to fight a name opponent, Maskaev would be an easy win for Chambers; Lamon Brewster is another name waiting to be taken; Chazz Witherspoon has a record and a name and not much else; Chambers could even get a KO win if he fight Michael Grant.

Chambers is not good enough to face any one with a pulse. He could be if he applied himself, but I don't think he will. In fact, I'm sure they he won't.
The best path for him is to keep on a steady diet of bums until some sanctioning body makes him a mandatory. Then he files out to Europe and gets himself rightfully KOed, picks up a pay check and fades into to bolvian.

    My 2 choices for him:
    1) Arreola
    2) Haye - post-Wlad

Chambers is very good. He's a legit top 10 hw but his lack of size, power and workrate won't allow him to become top 5.

He should target Arreola next. Big name who's completely untested and ready to be exposed. That's a big money fight in LA with small risks. Chambers would outclass him badly imo.

After Wlad destroys Haye, Chambers-Haye would be an intriging matchup if David is still in one piece :p

Chambers needs to avoid the KLITS at all costs especially Wlad who is close in handspeed and has quicker feet. He would get obliterated at range.

Arreola, that would be a great test for Arroela and a test I don't see him pass.

That's a good post. I'll just add that before Fat Eddy fights any of your B-C level guys, he should fight his Crispy Creme habit:yep

Chambers has a lot of skill but he's lazy and inconsistent.

    He's a solid top 10 guy now.

He has beat Guinn, Brock, and Peter in the last couple years-not bad.

He should probably stay busy on the Espn circuit until has title shot comes along.

Beat the Guinns of the world until his shot comes.

But he will get decapitated if he faces Big Bad Wlad. :scaredas:

Chambers needs to shoot for the winner of Valuev vs Chagaev... if they ever fight.

Any interest in a Chambers/Kevin Johnson match-up? Or with the undefeated Donnell Holmes? Or how about Odlanier Solis?

Chambers would not beat Valoeuv or Chagaev. Chambers has zero chance Vs. Klitschkos. Chambers needs to fight a top ten fighter next is possible because he needs to improve a lot before being taken seriously.
