Its hard to build up a guy like Berlanga, who does not go many rounds. He knocks out everything but top level opponents, but because of this, he is not ready for a hard step up.
I would love to watch David Benevidez vs Berlenga, probably the most dangerous fight he could get. Would be a great watch I think!
i don't see him fighitng any decent guys until 20+ fights.. hes got power but once he stepsup i think the top guys gonna expose him..
Gabe Rosado, I don't like Rosado but damn if he isn't a decent measuring stick. Gabe would test him, he's gonna hit him, show some movement, show some toughness, he's not gonna fall out the first time he gets hit.
It would be a good test. Fielding has a lot of experience. He's not great, but he could be trouble for Berlanga this early in his career.
What about someone like vaughn alexander (older, limited, but never been stopped), or if they want to take more of a chance alfredo angulo (older, name recognition)
I hate when things like this gets spread, getting stopped in sparring means nothing, nothing against you, you just said what you heard but even if it’s true who knows the circumstances around the sparring. Saying that, I want to see him fight a tougher opponent in his next fight as well.
I asked for a source. I haven't seen anything. If anyone has anything that says so, I'd like to see it.
i like berlanga but hard to really measure him without more rounds. his current streak is impressive and entertaining but they guy needs rounds! he needs to step up with some one who will at least give him 8 good rounds. rosado i think would be a great measure and step up.
I think Oozcat would be a good test. Before Berlanga thinks of going up against guys like Benavides or any of the guys near the top, he needs to show he can deal with someone who can take his shots and fights back. Needs to show he can work thru some adversity, implement a plan B, and that he has the motor to go deep into a fight.
