Who should Floyd have fought?

Dont mention any top rank fighters. If Bob wasnt in the picture the fights would've happened. Bob didnt even want to make DLH-FLoyd when floyd was under him. Tells you all you need to know.

Floyd should have fought Tzyu, Prime Casamayor, Undefeated Cotto, Prime Margarito, Prime Pacquioa, the welterweight Williams, and Martinez at 150.. Had he fought them and still hold that "0", I'd rank him #9 ATG behind Duran.. :smoke

It's crazy when we want to say this top rank fighters vs this golden boy fighters fight "would be a great match" people will respond by saying something along the lines of "it will never happen. That's GBP vs TR" and people accept it. but when it's floyd, that point is overlooked as if the fight with a top rank fighter could have been made but its all Floyd's fault...

 

For me the only real match I feel like we as fans missed was the bout with Pacquiao regardless of what side you fall on that bout should have happened, also Tyzu

outside of that I don't have many problems with how his resume shaped up.

guys like Margarito and Williams careers are over and theres no real argument you can make for them being great career enhancing fights.

and guys like Mosley, Cotto, Casa, Frietas,Hatton all ducked Mayweather at various points of there career.

 

I have Robinson, Ali, Armstrong, Louis, Pep, Benny Leonard, Johnson, and Duran at their respective order.. Its hard for me to move one of them for Floyd.. :smoke

Tell me the year that these would have each been ideal in.

Unfortunately, almost none of those were ever possible.

If he had done all that in addition to the same resume he has now, he likely would be the GOAT, at the very least in the conversation.

It's because of Arum that Floyd health came first. If PAC wasn't with Arum, there would have been no health issue at all.

 

Does it matter? As soon as he beats them, the haters have an excuse. Cotto and Pac were never going to fight Mayweather under Arum. That's fact. As SOON as Cotto left Arum the fight was made.

 

You mean Pac's health came first, he didn't want to lose a few drop of bloods.

 

I have maintained a completely unbiased perspective concerning why Pacquiao and Mayweather never fought in their primes... but if I had to point a finger, I would point it at Mayweather.
