Mayweather has been accused of ducking various guys but until the very end of his career 2014/2015 I see little evidence of this.

Who do people feel he should have fought who he didn't face?

Obviously he didn't face Pacquiao when people wanted but big fights rarely happen when they should have these days so for me that criticism doesn't hold much weight.

Crawford and Lara are the guys I wish he had fought but seemingly when he was active he wasn't criticized for not facing them

I'd have rather seen him fight Tzysu, Wright, Williams and Margarito at some point, but I don't think he out and out ducked them. Maybe some good management on his part but I really doubt he was worried about being badly hurt or anything against those guys.

He should’ve taken Martinez’s 160 belt after beating Canelo and before dropping back to 147.

It is more when he fought the guys he fought.Less who he fought.

Gayweather should fight Pacroid in 2009 - 2010, back then when that fight still made sense.

Waiting until 2015 for a single, quite straightforward fight to happen was ridiculous.
Six years waiting for a couple of already fading pampered "have been" like Pacroid and Gayweather to stop procastinating was a massive letdown.

Even worse, when the fight finally happened, it was predictably a stinker.

I partially blame my current lack of interest on modern boxing to that embarrasing episode.

The Tszyu situation was interesting because Floyd had been calling him out before they were even I believe set to fight after Hatton, a fighter that right hand dependent would’ve been in hot waters against FM and I say that as a Tszyu super fan.

Yeah, same here. Don't see an obvious case for ducking in these, though.

Khan probably more so, and that was also one I'd like to see, but Floyd was nearing the end at that time.

At the risk of stating the obvious, after Pacquiao beat Hatton and De La Hoya much more convincingly than he had, the gauntlet had been well and truly thrown down.

The core of Mayweathers ducking charges aren't the guys he didn't fight but the timing. And as future generations become more divorced from the historical context of these matches hes likely to get the full credit for fighting all his opponents in their prime.

Theres guys he didn't fight like a Bradley or Khan but the core criticism of Floyd is "aging fighters out".

Biggest overatted cherry picker in the history of the sport. Avoided many guys when they were hot never wanting to prove he was the best. Also Moves up and waits for losses and old age. He was a businessman and was the Draw being the most popular setting his own terms. I will say it everytime a Floyd thread comes up. If Floyd was forced to fight over 100 fights back in the day in the high octane 15 rounders ,, he is another Joe Nobody .. for example, Hank chews him up and spits him out in 10 rounds

In hindsight with how badly deteriorated Martinez was at the time it looks like it might have been a good target. But no one knew that until Cotto utterly wrecked him. By then it was a moot point. And prior to that revelation it was a huge risk for Floyd to go all the way up to 160. And if he demanded a catch weight then people today would be giving him even MORE shlt than they do for him not pursuing it at all.

Martinez was smaller and more vulnerable than Canelo. Chavez Jr. shattered Marinez's aura, not Cotto.

Arum pretty obviously didn't want it back then. The common opponent that mattered was Marquez.
