Just about any top fifteen heavyweight would be good for Haye to start off with, as he is new to the divsion and should be allowed one so-so fight to launch his career at heavyweight....... Williamson, Liakhovich, Beck, Skelton, Williams, etc. Any of these guys would suffice for Haye's first fight, to get his heavyweight mettle..............then............just before he faces Wlad for ALL the marbles, for a real test, put him in with...

    OH, YEAH!

If Haye can get past this tough hombre, he is ready for the titleholders.

Ruiz will test him, no question!

    Hasim Rahman

A probable KO 1 win that would generate more interest in a Klitschko fight.

    I actually wouldn't mind Haye-Ruiz.
Other opponents I wouldn't argue with,
    Ibragimov
    Virchis
    Gomez
    Dimitrienko

Haye throws all of his great self-promotion out the window if he fights,
    Rahman
    Golota
    Williams

Liakhovich and Cokemez would be a good start..... If he can get Ruiz out of there, then that would set up a Klit fight... Wlad got mandatory issues to deal with first...

Rahman has been talked about I think that is an obvious chouice.

he should stay away from spoilers who will make him look bad like Skelton and Ruiz. Danny Williams is a good domestic fight but wont get him any nearer to Klitschko.

Honestly, he could fight anyone in the heavy weight division outside of Wlad. IMO there is Wlad at the top, then everyone else pretty much is terrible. You may be able to put Peter towards the top b/c of his power, but outside of that, Haye can establish himself against any of the other heavies not named Wlad. If he cant beat them, he should not even think about Wlad.

And by the way, by me saying that I think Wlad is wayyyy better than the rest doesnt mean I think he is great. It's just than every one else is just that bad IMO.

How does he throw it all out of the window if in his second ever Heavyweight fight he takes on somone like Rahman? The guy is past it, but a big heavy with a big punch who was mixing it at the highest level of the division pretty recently.

For a second ever heavyweight fight and the first now he has moved up it would be fine.

Ruiz would be a nightmare for Haye on the Inside. Haye's not hard to hit with hooks either on the Inside.

Haye is calling out the universally recognized HW champ, saying he can KO him today, KO him at 200lbs.
He says everyone at HW is a bum, this is great, but then he can't go out and do better than ancient Rahman, a guy barely in the top 20 'bums'. This is the big explosion onto the HW scene? Talk about anticlimactic. Rahman can't even put together a combination and in his last fight he looked worse than old-man Maskaev did against Peter if that is even possible.
If the man is going to do a loud, arrogant self-promotion, he's got to back it up with real fights. Rahman is only a name because he KO'd Lewis I forget how many years ago.
Move on. Fight a real opponent. Knock him out. Increase the hype and interest in a megafight.
It is a step in the wrong direction to face Rahman, there is no one that gives him a chance to beat Haye, it's a complete joke of a fight.

Haye Povetkin would make all kinds of sense, for Haye, as it would make him next in line, right after Thompson for a shot at Wlad's two titles................but it would be a risky and somewhat foolish move for Povetkin, on that may cost him the titleshot he already has in the bag. Povetkin would be no more a mandatory after beating Haye than he is right now.

I hope Rahman is Haye's next fight, as that would be interesting. Rahman should work on his game and come into this next fight in much better condition, as he knows its getting down to the wire for him. Rahman won't be the pushover for Haye that many seem to think he'll be. Rahman may even manage to land a bit shot and put a quick end to Haye's heavyweight superstar dreams.

Not a doubt in my mind that Virchis would take the fight. Same goes for Ruiz, as boring as he may be, he was/is always willing to fight anyone. Dimitrienko could use the exposure if he ever intends on fighting for a belt. Not sure what is up with Gomez, I hear his name involved with whatever bull**** is going on in the WBC these days so maybe he is out of the question.
