Who should Haye Fight Next?

if wlad still has to fight povetkin after rahman, and vitali has to fight gomez, andy showdown with a klit won't happen till around july.

i can't see haye having another 8 month layoff before his next fight. he came through this one without any injuries / cuts and i think he should be back in the ring in 3 or 4 months time against a big man or an eastern european style hw.

unfortunately, given the low turnout at the o2 i can't see haye picking someone even more unknown than barrett, so i reckon it will be another american - thompson probably the best choice.

 

That's been the plan all along. He wants the big money fight and one of the Klits is big money, fast.
And will be KO'd by either one. He could the modern version of Micheal Grant if he sticks around. He's going nowhere in the heavyweight division. I think he may get into acting after his boxing career.
Decent punch, too smallish, bad chin.
Peter would knock him out cold,so you won't see that fight.
He's a "flash in the Pan", reminds me of a smaller Shannon Briggs with a brain and less pop.:yep .

I don't think Haye should fight a Klitschko yet, he definitely isn't ready IMO after only one fight at heavyweight against a relatively small heavyweight.

The important thing now is to gain experience of fighting far bigger guys, which means fights against Toney or the discredited Sam Peter would be pointless wastes of time.

Tony Thompson is the best guy out there for Haye as David would surely beat him, but I don't think Thompson will beat Toney, so that one probably won't be viable.

Thompson, or if Thompson loses to Toney, then Michael Grant. Haye should take his time to build his confidence and experience up at heavyweight - rushing in against the Klitschkos and getting KTFO would be a horrendous mistake.

And when it does come time to fight a Klitschko, it just has to be Wlad. Haye's only chance against a Klitschko is a stoppage, and there is no way he stops Vitali.

 

The winner of Toney-Thompson would be a step up from Barrett.It's too soon to fight the Klitschko's Peter is too dangerous a puncher and Austin is too easy.

 

A top 10 fighter (as stipulated in his Setanta contract) who is at least 6'4 (to prepare him for the K's). Ray Austin might be a good idea considering his size, recent beating of Golota. Maybe Tony Thompson if he beats Toney. Dimitrenko or McCline would also be good. At worst he could fight one of those undefeated giants he was orignally gonna face but they are unproven.

 

Haye also stands a chance at getting caught with a KO shot, if he fights a big meaty heavyweight like McCline, and there goes his big payday with a K Brother, down the drain.

 

I see Haye's size and attributes as a greater + than - to be fair.

People forget he can box as well

 

Haye needs to test himself against a big heavyweight before he gets in with Wlad or Vitali.

Somebody like McCline.
