Question's in the title. Who should I do?

The criteria is pretty simple. They have to have plenty of footage available - so preferably, something like 30s/40s onward, with around 50 rounds of available footage. They also have to interest me a decent amount. I can't be ****ed watching them, getting to grips with them and spending however long writing a big thing on them if they bore me to tears. And they can't be any of these: Marvin Hagler, Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Larry Holmes, James Toney, Oleksandr Usyk, Ezzard Charles, Roberto Duran, or Tommy Hearns.

I'll change this thread into that one - or may just start another one - with the fighter I've picked. But I won't say who I've picked, I'll just get to work.

I'll give you five from the last 50 years that I don't see mentioned to much on here. These are all very good but not great fighters.

    Joey Archer
    Esteban DeJesus
    Simon Brown
    Steve Collins
    Mikkel Kessler

Definitely some good names in there. Two especially; Brown & DeJesus. Joey Archer bores me shitless, and neither Kessler nor Collins get me going much - although their styles are much more appreciable than Archer's (or his modern counterpart, Ottke's) - so I'd probably rule them out pretty quickly.

Brown and DeJesus can definitely end up as the next guy though.

Do one on one of your all time favorite fighter, I am sure it would be a breath of fresh air. Some, not most past threads are repetitive, scratched record so to speak, meant to cause posters to become disrespectful towards one another, while the author gets a big kick out of this. But think it over or ask a question about a particular fighter. I am sure whatever you choose will come out just fine.

Nothing could be written that hasn't been said a million plus times about him.

Time to move on and give credit to some more deserving fighters before him...

I think that in my opinion that Muhammad Ali was the greatest, but I have to side with channy. We see billions of times, Ali vs Tyson, because posters do not want those two to be forgotten, understandable. But would it not be a respectful tribute to let Mike Tyson enjoy his retirement and Ali to rest in peace? We see these two too many times, I do not even reply any more to these type of threads, do not care if it is 2022 or 2023. Look in the dictionary for the definition of Insanity, it describes these type of threads. Matches of other fighters before them could prove educational, I would find these type of threads very interesting and fresh. For the younger posters if you find these threads boring, then General Forum is just for you. They talk about the current crop of fighters, many of us older posters do not have any interest in. This site is Classic. If you prefer other topics or discussions, politics, religion or other types of discussions, the Lounge could be right up your alley.
